Getting More Soldiers on Field

If you meet all the recommended specifications. What do you need which will allow you to have the most soldiers on the field at once without lag.

For MTW2 on custom battles i can get about 4000 on field and then i get the message telling me that that was the recommended number. I surpass the recommended specs for the game

Go to SEGA/Medieval II Total War folder and find medieval2.preference.CFG file. Open it and find line unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 0. Set it 1 and save file. Now the reinforcements should appear as soon as battle start.

What would be the thing you would upgrade on your computer to get more men on the battefield with no lagg

CPU processing power and ram I would imagine
