Denmark-Norway and the wars with England 1801-1814

The Napoleonic wars were called the”Wars with England” (Englandskrigene) 1801-1814 in Denmark and Norway. It started with an unprovoked attack by Britain on the Danish-Norwegian fleet anchored at Copenhagen in 1801 and ended in 1814 with state bankruptcy and the loss of Norway to Sweden.

A short timeline:
1801: “Slaget på reden” unprovoked attack by Britain.

1807: France demands that Denmark-Norway stops trading with Britain and declare Britain war. At the same time Britain demand that Denmark should ally with Britain and use it’s navy against France or handover it’s navy to Britain.

1807: Britain bombards Copenhagen with Congreve rockets and set the city ablaze. Armistice is signed and Britain confiscates the Danish navy.

1807-1814: Naval skirmishes with Britain.

1813: The Danish Auxiliary Corps joins Napoleon’s armies in Northern Germany. Successful battles are fought against a Prussian-Russian-Swedish army at Alt Rahlstedt and Sehested.

1814: Norway is handed over to Sweden as part of the armistice.

Basics

This mod is at this point focused solely on Denmark-Norway and Norway factions with two different startpos. Both startpos files are based on vanilla ones with many features included. The mod is called DEK in short and main thread is located here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=353359

Denmark-Norway startpos:

Denmark-Norway

Victory conditions for Denmark-Norway.
Campaign HMI text.
Correct Christian VII portrait.
Correct Frederik VI portrait.
Frederik VI’s succeeds his father in 1806 (historically 1808) but due to his fathers “madness” he had ruled the country for years as crown prince.
Denmark-Norway is now a major country so the player gets all in game event notifications.
Added Prins Frederik af Hessen (including portrait) and to other historical generals for recruitment.
Added Admiral Olfert Fischer for recruitment.
Starting armies and fleet are DEK units (no longer vanilla ones)
FoW removed around Denmark and Norway
Correct portrait of Napoléon Bonaparte
Starting treasury increased to 7500
Some tech’s are already researched

Norway startpos:

Norway

Custom victory conditions for Norway. You will be allied with Denmark.
Campaign HMI text.
Christian August added as Statholder (Governor) including portrait.
Prins Christian Frederik will succeed Christian August in 1806, not historically correct but Christian August actually went to Sweden and became crown-prince but died a few years later in an accident. Prins Christian Frederik became Staholder in 1813.
No starting armies or fleets but Norway can recruit it’s troops from the “Citizen” line of buildings as well.
Shipyard switched to Trading port in Stavanger.
FoW removed around Norway.
Correct portrait of Napoléon Bonaparte.
Some tech’s are already researched

Besides the customized startpos files the DEK mod includes 71 different custom units replacing almost the entire roosters for both factions.

A custom made GUI for easier game startup is supplied by the NTF team (HusserlTW to be more precise)

It might not be compatible with the latest versions of startpos mod? If you would like to play as Denmark-Norway with even more features I suggest you play the follow on major mod named LME. Linked via my signature
