What did I do wrong?

I downloaded the mod from gameupdates, (torrent mirror 1) installed it into my total war file but it doesnt work. i installed both parts of the mod and patch 6.1 and those additional sub-mods but my game crashes right after it gets to title screen (that screen that pops up right after you try to open the mod)

have any1 else experienced this same problem?
and sorry if there is another thread regarding this problem but im too tired right now to use search

If you are using Vista/WIN7 you need to disable the UAC on installation, probably best to keep it off whilst playing

I had it disabled while i was installing the mod

You refer to the other sub mods, are you referring to the checkboxes on the 6.1?
Have you tried to run the game with your UAC disabled?

yep, I checked every checkbox (except the last which said "do not check this if you checked the other)

and i have tried to play with UAC disabled but it does the same thing

So you have installed Kingdoms, Patch 1.5 and then 6.0 Pt1 & Pt2, then Patch 6.1. Please confirm are you using discs or Steam version.

hmh... I dont remember installing the 1.5patch for kingdoms so im trying that next.

installing the 1.5 patch made things even worse. now it requires correct kingdoms CD.

i have gold edition so I dont have specific kingdoms CD and i have tried both of the CDs i have.

guess i have to get no cd crack for this then...

Donjon,

Did you d/l the correct patch for Gold version, please check as it can be easy to get wrong. As it is asking for a disc you don't have, think you installed version for the separates

I think you should remove SS, Defrag, File Clean Up and Registry Clean. Then install Patch 1.5, check after that Kingdoms campaign works.
Then install 6.0 Pt1 x2, 6.0 pt2 x 2 and 6.1 x2, twice as installer can miss things.
THE UAC MUST BE DISABLED AT ALL TIMES.
