Some of these militias support domestic terrorists like McVeigh. Since were fighting a "war or terrorism" shouldn't we shut them down? I personally dont think so, but I think its ironic that usually its the republicans who support them.

Militias is simply a common military unit. Many factions from all sides of the conflict in Iraq, so I see no reason why we shouldn't use them.

Also, you didn't read the article very carefully. there is a difference between an independent terrorist militia, and an "official" militia.

Perhaps because every nation has right to have any kind of goverment they want? I see that as a damn good reason not to interfere in what some army in other independent country supports.

Your argument also applies to militias, which was my point exactly.

Looks like scare tactic to me.... Lots of hearsay.

I mean, look at Britain and US. In US 2001, the terrorism was committed in the scene where people are not allowed to have guns (or have guns without live ammunition-or are you allowed to bring guns with live ammunition?) In Britain, the terrorism is committed in the busy suburban tube.

Depends on the militias. And of course nation. Over here there you cannot form your own militia for example. Not sure how the USA system is since the term "well regulated militia" is very vague and I do not know if you have better legal definition of it.

If there is definition then you can't shut off except those militias who do not follow it to the letter. If there isn't definition all that would be necessary is making law regarding what "well regulated militia" is, and making it tight as hell, and put stop on them.
