    Default Fun with Photoshop...

Looks like AP is at it again having fun with photos, in case anyone didnt know after Bush won relection a story put out by the AP and hosted on a few sites (AOL news site being one of the bigger ones) contained a photo of Bush and his wife and clicking on it showed the title of the picture to be *******.jpg. So now today AP story with Condi picture

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/washing...congress_x.htm

Nice eyes demon woman! http://es.news.yahoo.com/19102005/24...oint-news.html is an 'undoctored' photo, someone over at AP really should be doing their job.

Either someone had fun with photoshop, or the camera crew took thousands of pictures, and picked the worst one of her.

    Racist, partisan fiends!

No cause for such alarm. There are many ways for you to die - I'm just one of them.

Well the 2nd link is the same picture from another news agency so the key seems to be AP and not the people taking the photos as I said this is 2nd time they have done something similiar.

It probably wasn't photoshop, I think.

Yeah, they could have done a much more realistic looking job in photoshop.
    I suspect it's "paint".

I think it's just childish, but on the other hand I also think the doctored photo reflects her personality better.

Then lets take a picture of Hillary Clinton and draw satanic horns and beard on her!

    I agree, it is childish.

Editor's note: The photo of Condoleezza Rice that originally accompanied this story was altered in a manner that did not meet USA TODAY's editorial standards. The photo has been replaced by a properly adjusted copy. Photos published online are routinely cropped for size and adjusted for brightness and sharpness to optimize their appearance. In this case, after sharpening the photo for clarity, the editor brightened a portion of Rice's face, giving her eyes an unnatural appearance. This resulted in a distortion of the original not in keeping with our editorial standards.
I take it you have read this bit?

That is new as it wasnt there originally, obviously it being a news item on Drudge got alot of responses to them forcing them to fix it. Funny though sharping of the image had no other noticable impact on the image including the background which is distorted due to distances as it is. Same thing happened with the Bush picture and its name, it was fixed and they blamed it on accident mislabeling as if a news agency would use the word  for any picture.

Everythingf but Condi in the photo is distorted, an effect to make her strand out I guess; and you can see some brightening...

Shrug Id be willing to bet it was done on purpose, the media does this alot and always blames editing glitches for it. There is just no way an editor was sharpening the image and didnt realize the outcome. Not saying its a republican thing its a media thing and they have done it alot, from editing photos, to using distorted/unflattery shots (the Bill Clinton feeling up a woman pic, the Bush "Hitler" salute) to flat out digital editing (the LA Times US soldier/Iraqi composite pic that made it look like the soldier was pointing a weapon at a man carrying a child the editor was fired for that one after he combined images of two pictures to create it).

I agree, it was too obvious for an editor to miss.
Everybody who first saw the original would notice the unnatural outcome of the "sharpening" of her eyes.
