Default I believe there still is a chance that Rome 2 will be announced at E3.

Maybe they want to surprise us? They did say they would announce it AT E3 and not before, so maybe they still have something coming? Who knows? I'm still going to keep my hopes up because I am dying for a Rome 2. Thoughts?

not to be mean but thats more desperate hope than a valid possiblity I mean I understand how you feel but sadly we will have to face facts its shogun I mean why shogun I would have prefered anything to shogun but its over and thats what we are stuck with so we will just have to deal with it.

Because it is still the best TW game.
Atleast vanilla-wise. Only mods make RTW and M2:TW enjoyable and superior in some regards.

I never really liked shogun I found it a bit boring I loved MTW and wish some of the features in it would come back but I found shogun an okay first try but not that great.

Well basically my love for STW and the first MTW too results from the risk-style campaign map. And Shogun had these awesome ingame-videos and the Throneroom. Plus superb weather effects on the battlefields (including four seasons per year ). These things made it superior to MTW1.

Shogun the best TW? It was only a prototype. Rome was the prototype for M2TW and the later ETW/NTW. Mods have improved it for sure but mostly in the aestetic side. A new Rome would bring more fun than a 9 faction shogun.

Well after shogun they tried to focus on the models of soldiers more than other things and they really disappointed. But Rome brought 3D map, 3D soldiers ect. Shogun cuould have been added as an exp to already existing games more than making as a new complete game.

I have to agree that it is the mods that made Rome so enjoyable and the reason I still play it.

wow i hope they dont do that... RTW is a very good game MPwise and i would hate for them to ruin that with a sequel as well...

I would LOVE to see R2TW! Its nearly what? 8 or 9 years of age? They could completely redo it with better graphics and different factions. I think it would also be intresting if they let you choose your start date, and that affected which territories your faction had, and what other factions were around to fight. So starting at a different date could give you a completely different game play, making the game more enjoyable and longer lasting.

The only way R2TW is going to be announced at E3 is if they happen to be working on both R2TW and Shogun 2 and Shogun got leaked first and they would announce R2TW along with it at E3.

I just find it hard to believe This Shogun leak is an elaborate Hoax. That would be a slap in the face to TW fans who really want a shogun sequel.

A believable hoax would be if they invented some crazy far out mythical fantasy game, that was just ridiculous and leaked that.

ANything is better then more muskeet genre games.

Leave it to the modder to perfect the works of the paid developers for no profit at all.

If a game needs to be redone it would be Shogun not Rome. Rome still has acceptable graphics at least.

Maybe they are making Shogun because people are still playing rome so they want it to die a little more.

Nothing they can produce would eliminate the hard core of the mp clannies. its been 3 games since rome and we are all still addicted to it. clan v clan 3v3's on voice chat are incomprehensibly awesome when everyone is good at the game. sure we might lose some clanless prey (yes prey) to satisfy our thirst for rome but it wont rly change for us.

    That sounded so vampiric
when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

it has its downsides. being good means you have to rely on other good players for good games that are challenging meaning less games. unless you wanna do a 3v3 vs normal player. i guess they could get lucky.
No it is really lonely at the top. knowing that theres only +-20 people left that pose a challenge is almost a reason to quit.
