ExRM won't launch.

Downloaded the latest ExRM yesterday and can't get it to launch. It worked fine on my laptop but every time I try to install it it just gives me a busy symbol and then that goes away and nothing happens. I've tried running as admin and turning off UAC but to no avail.

Any ideas? I've got Windows 7 and RTW Gold (through Steam) btw.

hm just copy the rtw of your laptop to your pc.this should work since rtw does not rely on the registry.

I've no idea mate. I use Windows 7 and it installed and runs fine. I'm guessing something went wrong during the installation of either RTW or ExRM.

I suggest checking at each stage of the install that you can play, so as to isolate the problem.

Install Rome Total War.
Test to make sure it'll run.
Patch to 1.3.
Test.
Patch to 1.5.
Test.
Install Barbarian Invasion.
Test.
Patch to 1.6.
Download ExRM.
Install ExRM, using the no-nonsense installer.
Test both vanilla and ExRM.
Download the latest hotfix.
Test.

Just had a thought, does the Steam version of RTW Gold include Alexander? If so there are some coding amendments which need to be made, as detailed here.

Yeah he hasn't replied yet so hopefully he's too busy playing to get back to us about how it went

Also, I don't have mod status to do anything about these threads... We'll have to wait for Quinn Inuit 'the Hypochondriac' to get back (is that -8 hit points from your general or -3?).

Yeah, he's definitely "Feeling poorly". Perhaps we should add a herbalist to his retinue ?

I already know a herbalist, but I don't think she specializes in allergy cures. She made my sister a nice sleeping draught, though.

I've started getting allergy shots. We'll see how that goes. I look at it as an immune system hardhack.
