    Default Political frustrations...what's your biggest?

    I really hate to call the US Democratic Party "my" party, but like most here, every voting cycle I reluctantly pick the lesser of two evils for lack of any viable alternatives...and hope for the best. Usually, the Dems get my vote based on spouting policies aligned with my sentiments...knowing very well that the same powerful interests which openly pollute Republicans are always at play, regardless of Party affiliation.

    My latest beef is not with the Party, rather, with Liberals who don't vote. They're difficult to awaken, which must be done each and every cycle unlike Conservatives who typically stand in formation for the opportunity. Look at how quickly Obama's fanboys went back to their pursuits, oblivious that their support would be needed throughout his term to keep their interests alive. Such complacency sinks the hopes of progress every time, or worse, allows them to be perverted into some piece of legislative nightmare.

    Unlike most local Liberals I've been carefully following my state's Primaries...despite that most incumbents are unopposed Dems. The popular Dem sentiment is "Ha! The opposition is squandering its warchest, undermining itself with attack ads, etc...". However, all I see are Conservative ads, discussions, articles, bio pieces, etc, while the Liberals remain absolutely silent. Concurrently, Conservative candidates have been building their networks, forging alliances, rallying constituents, solidifying their platform positions, practicing their speeches and interview quips, and so on, for months.

    On the evening of June 1, Susana Martinez (R) was overwhelmingly nominated as the NM gubernatorial candidate, in opposition to standing Lt Gov Diane Denish. First female NM governor, regardless of who wins. Martinez had a HUGE rally that night, and began her acceptance by attacking Denish for her connections with standing governor Bill Richardson, whose scandalous past is an easy target. Denish, on the other hand...quietly delivered a brief, milquetoasty speech about Liberal solidarity to a relative handful of supporters and reporters.

    How the Hell does she expect to rally her complacent supporters, when she doesn't even launch her campaign early enough to:

    a. distance herself from scandals of the current administration,
    b. put her platform on the table,
    c. scare her constituents into realizing the ramifications of having an aggressively Conservative Governor, or
    d. make her name universally associated with Good Things To Come.

    Instead? Absolute Silence...

    I can only conclude that the Democratic party is Stupid. They behave as if campaign momentum means nothing, that so long as the number of Liberal voters and the campaign warchest is greater than that of the opposition...no worries. I think they deserve to lose, I mean, they need but look to the 2004 Presidential campaign to see where this is headed!

    /rant.

    So...what pisses you off the most about the candidates for whom you end up voting? Gloating at my frustrations will be tolerated, so long as you throw some ammunition my way in return!

    My political frustrations?

    1. The British Monarchy
    2. Capitalism

    Currently there's no party I'd really align myself with. Labour is FAR off from Socialism, despite what some ignorant people might say. And the Communist party here in Britain seems as if it's in favour of more extreme Soviet-style Communism, which, although I'm not completely against it, I'm a Democratic Socialist and completely disagree with the Authoritarian elements of far-left Communism.

    My political frustrations:

    People of Deadly Virus' political inclinations (no offence, well kinda, in a political way lol).

    I despise the far left. that's an understatement.

    I find their entire movement ignorant, hypocritical, and just abhorrent in general.

    i also find these, what i like to call 'micro-nationalist movements' absurd too (scots, welsh etc etc). Generally nationalism in extension i guess - See no point in microstates and i find self determination a flawed, idealistic theory.

    [RANT=]Mine? Apologists/anti-Westernites who blame white, straight, usually (but not always) male Westerners for everything evil in the world. Be they 'black nationalists' or vote-seeking politicians or far, hyper left fanatics or guilty white es; they all offend me. Critiscism, some self-depreciating humour and a sense of empathy are all needed to keep a system healthy, yet there seems to be no shortage or anti-[insert Western country here] sentiment.

    Bureaucrats and government officials who believe that all problems can be solved if we merely raise taxes and introduce new laws are also sickening. I see political correctness as a suicidal poison that we should all try to eradicate. I know the state is needed in several areas of responsibiliy, but governments, like corporations, need to be limited. They have their use and we should endeavour to strike a balance between the various institutes of power and between the common masses and said authorities.

    I also dislike craven governments who don't take the odd hard decision and the politicians who always treat things as some sort of game.
    In addition, the lack of common sense and the hypocrisy of many average voters is frustrating to say the least. Everyone turns to government for help and salvation, then 5 minutes later, when the problem is still there, we all blame the government for not fixing the problem at no cost, no pain, no sacrifice and in three days. The authorities are verbally lashed for trying to over-govern and flood us with laws and taxes; make up your minds people!

    Impatience of the Vesternvolk, in general, is irritating. The sense of idealism that all problems can be fixed immediately and at no cost is also distrubing. You'ld think we've learned to grow up in this financial crisis, non? The suffocating bleeding heart-ism in our media is another irritant; that somehow one death is worthy of 10 minutes of prime-time media fapping is a weakness. Yes, death is tragic, but we don't need to keep saying the same fact while pretending to be mournful and caring now do we? especially if the next segment is a celebrity fluff 'story'.[/RANT]

    As two have spoken already, I may as well say this to; I also feel sorry for commies, as their fantasy is never going to come true. That indeed, must be a frustration.

    nepotism and the drive to stay in power at all costs against what actually would be good for the country.

    There are good intentions and there are politics and the latter wipes out the former due to party politics.

    The utter misrepresentation of World War2 and all the harmfull policies that are legitimated by these lies. This world of do-gooding is aimed at self destruction. all the policies we see, from the wars we are engaged in, tp suicidal domestic policies (immigration i.e). The self loathing stemming from atrocity stories that are nothing but lies, finally destroys our western civilisations from within- as it does from the outside by waging wars we have no reason to be in, justified by a version of "history" that is nothing but a lie to begin with.

    We are aimed at self destruction, driven by the strong belief we were doing "good" and obliged to do so, when in reality, we spread war, destruction death and genocide across the planet, serving the interests of certain cliques and eternal liars.

    That pretty sums up my "biggest political frustration".

    At he moment it would be the almost monthly screwups by the currrent Foreign minister. She's so ridicoulsly dumb and unfit. She takes over and before her first month as minister is over, she decides it's more important to go on a holiday to spain than than to attend an important summit.

    It annoys me that politicians think I’m an idiot. I may be, I probably am, but not in the ways they think I am.
    All politicians cooperate to artificially create dipoles so that people have 2 sides of any given issue that they can easily understand. Whereas usually the real argument is about another, related, issue that policy makers think ‘the people’ are too stupid to be able to grasp. Even if people are, which I doubt, they should still be honest and try to tell it how it is.
    It annoys me that they think I can’t see through their . Anyone with a job title with ‘PR’ in it needs to be taken out and shot.
    It annoys me that my only sources of information all come through journalists. Journalists never have the time to understand anything before they move onto something else. Their job is just to whack out a story asap. They are the kind of people who don’t mind only ever understanding the tiniest surface scratching of whatever they’re talking about.
    It annoys me that all sources of information are biased. All coverage is biased either to the left or the right depending on the target audience. I want genuine coverage that is only interested in truth. I don’t want my natural prejudices pandered to.
    Most of all it annoys me that I am not, and have no prospect of ever being, in sole charge of everything - although the rest of the world should probably be thankful for this small mercy.

    Politicians that are spineless, manipulative, populist curs that are only really politicians because no one else can be bothered to dedicate their lives to it. If I am to evolve this further I'd have to make a long post about it though...

    The fact that the European Union, in which we have a very little voice, can heavily influence politics that should be dealt with exclusively (imo) by our national government. That is one of my biggest.

    My biggest current frustration is coalitions, to be honest I dont mind two-party coalitions such as britains, But the six or seven party coalitions frequently seen in Israel are so fractured and ridicolous that they somehow cant get anything useful or risky done, but have an easy time making snap decisions that tend to do lasting harm and damage in the name of a random issue , Wether its security, or the economy , or how much they love god . When its really reform thats needed, of the voting system, of the army , of the foreign ministry and the PR ministry, theyre busy doing things like discussing who gets the next handout from government .

    My political frustrations:

    * The right-wing
    * The radical left-wing
    * The fact that we haven't had a non-hung parliament for about 60 years, which is the main reason for:
    * The existence of settlements in the West Bank
    * That the only sane leaders we've had in the past few decades have either been killed or in a coma
    * That we're so dependent on the USA
    * That our government doesn't do enough to discourage racism against Etheopian and Arab citizens
    * The fact that even though we get trillions of dollars in aid from the USA we spend most of it on the militairy and infrastructure, and hardly any on education and health care
    * Extremely high taxation
    * Terrible public transport
    * Idiotic prime ministers

    And I could go on all day...

    Both male and female walruses have tusks and have been observed using these overgrown teeth to help pull themselves out of the water.

    The mustached and long-tusked walrus is most often found near the Arctic Circle, lying on the ice with hundreds of companions. These marine mammals are extremely sociable, prone to loudly bellowing and snorting at one another, but are aggressive during mating season. With wrinkled brown and pink hides, walruses are distinguished by their long white tusks, grizzly whiskers, flat flipper, and bodies full of blubber.
    Walruses use their iconic long tusks for a variety of reasons, each of which makes their lives in the Arctic a bit easier. They use them to haul their enormous bodies out of frigid waters, thus their "tooth-walking" label, and to break breathing holes into ice from below. Their tusks, which are found on both males and females, can extend to about three feet (one meter), and are, in fact, large canine teeth, which grow throughout their lives. Male walruses, or bulls, also employ their tusks aggressively to maintain territory and, during mating season, to protect their harems of females, or cows.
    The walrus' other characteristic features are equally useful. As their favorite meals, particularly shellfish, are found near the dark ocean floor, walruses use their extremely sensitive whiskers, called mustacial vibrissae, as detection devices. Their blubbery bodies allow them to live comfortably in the Arctic region—walruses are capable of slowing their heartbeats in order to withstand the polar temperatures of the surrounding waters.
    The two subspecies of walrus are divided geographically. Atlantic walruses inhabit coastal areas from northeastern Canada to Greenland, while Pacific walruses inhabit the northern seas off Russia and Alaska, migrating seasonally from their southern range in the Bering Sea—where they are found on the pack ice in winter—to the Chukchi Sea. Female Pacific walruses give birth to calves during the spring migration north.
    Only Native Americans are currently allowed to hunt walruses, as the species' survival was threatened by past overhunting. Their tusks, oil, skin, and meat were so sought after in the 18th and 19th centuries that the walrus was hunted to extinction in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and around Sable Island, off the coast of Nova Scotia.
