Recurring CTD
Hello! I've been a long-time fan of EB, and haven't really had too many problems with the game that I couldn't get around... until now. I'm playing my second full campaign with Epirus currently. I've already completed the victory objectives, but I decided to keep playing anyway. The current year in my game is 124 BC and I'm wanting to keep going to achieve my own goals, but this CTD is getting bothersome.
The CTD happens every time at the same point. I click "end turn" and the factions cycle through and right when it switches from Sauromatae (the last of the living factions to have a turn before the rebels) to the rebels, it crashes. I'm not sure if I'm having the rebelling city problem, or what. I know those of you who check these things like to have save games uploaded, but I'm not entirely sure how to do that.
Oh, btw, for some info about my game: I'm playing 1.2, but the save game for this was originally 1.1. When I updated to 1.2, the save game loaded and worked fine (for a long time) but I had some rebellions which actually made the campaign that much more fun again. But until now, I haven't had a recurring CTD.
Thanks!

Re: Recurring CTD
1.2 is not save-game compatible to 1.1
You should give up this campaign and start a 1.2 game. Be sure to have all fixes installed to prevent most CTD's.
Did you activate the script?

Re: Recurring CTD
Do you think it's the change from 1.1 to 1.2 that causes the crash?
The 1.1 file loaded into 1.2, I just had all of my lvl. III or IV settlements revolt because of the changes made to the client-ruler system. There were also a few weird misplaced traits and what not, but other than that the game worked perfectly fine (without CTDs) for about a month until yesterday.
I do always activate the script. But, I noticed last night that when I leave the script off, the game doesn't crash.
I have also installed all of the bug fixes to try and prevent CTDs.
If there is nothing else I can do to save the campaign, starting a new one isn't so bad. I may also just reinstall EB 1.1 to a clean folder of RTW to avoid any such problems. Thank you for your help thus far.

Re: Recurring CTD
See the section about CTD's in the Frequently encountered issues, with some handling around you'll have a good chance to get it working, you always can ask here if you encounter problems.
Having a new clean installation is always good option, especially if you just installed 1.2 over a fixed 1.1 and didn't install EB complete new.
1.2 is more stable than 1.1, however there are engine related bugs that the team can't fix, most of them are mentioned in the Frequently encountered issues.
As you are deep in your campaign and you are content with the state of play, continue and start the next game with a new installation.

Re: Recurring CTD
Thanks for all of the help. I've decided to try all the fixes listed in the thread you provided before going through the reinstall process. I do have a quick question, though. I'm trying to do the "lower population" thing and it continues to say "err: settlement not found."
The settlement in question is Ptolemais- Theron. Is there a certain way I need to write that into the code for it to work? Or does the settlement have a different name in the coding that I should be aware of?
Thanks again.

Re: Recurring CTD
The internal names for settlements are identical with the in-game names. Be sure to exactly write it the way showed on the campaign map.
The command goes: add_population "SETTLEMENT" -NUMBER (max. amount is 4000)
