    NER


    Napoleon Empire Realism (NER) aims to provide gameplay improvements
    as well as realism reflection on the NTW vanilla design.
    Diverse game aspects are and will be modified.


    Hi all, we are currently looking for a few talents to help us on our mod for NTW... Here it is :

    Announcement 01 Unit Skinner

    Task description and requirements:

    So what we need is a capable/skilled new team member who can provide *historical* unit texturing.

    Optional: Incl. all necessary unit default coding (default is meant as standard file coding that is necessary to get the unit additions to work - once more: This is not a must-skill.

    With *historical* is meant rather semi-historical. While you should have basic historical knowledge.
    More important is, that the team member is able to provide the stuff bugfree within our dev forum (= uploading updated packs and/or partfiles ready for an implementation).

    Currently, we are working on some certain additional units per faction and especially on much needed ZoR (home/faction units) and AoR (non-home troops in conquered regions), this has priority.
    Further, the re-skinning of some existing units is as well a task, but can be viewed as parallel long-term task.

    Announcement 02 Coder(s)

    Task description and requirements:

    Startpos.esf - One of the primary goal of NER is to develop a new gameplay based on a realistic AoR/ZoR system (regional recruitment). This project is already under development. We need help in editing the startpos.esf file.

    Your job would be to discuss this new system within the team and alter the startpos.esf file accordingly, along modifying start situations of armies and settlements.

    Characters - Our goal over here is to add several historical key characters, for all factions, that are missing ingame. Those being Generals, Gentlemen, Rakes,… The secondary goal is to correct several discrepancies, notably regarding names used ingame for these same characters or lower ones.

    Your main task will be to modify existing characters’ traits and ancs and to add new ones ingame. Historical basis will be discussed and provided by the team, as well as the 2D artwork portraits.

    Be aware that a good knowledge of the editor tools is needed for this task, with the main goal for the coder to provide bugfree (= uploading updated packs) material within the developer’s forum.

    Announcement 03 Historical researcher

    Task description and requirements:

    As the R from NER goes for Realism, we aim to largely deepen the immersive experience that the vanilla NTW offered to the player. While the units balancing play a large part, another important one is the historical accuracy we aim to provide on our mod.

    So we need the help of someone with a good knowledge (or with access to good* sources) about the Ottoman Empire and/or Spain. Your goal would be to provide historical data on the type of units used by these factions, the key characters that lived (and died…) in that period and various informations asked by the team regarding them.

    We are extremely careful on the fact that the searcher must remain neutral on his view of the history, course of actions, misdeeds of these factions. Let’s be frank, we all have a preference, as even historians does, but what we ask is to do not disguise these factions either as über or rubbish ones if they weren’t.

    * No, Wikipedia is not a good source…

    Announcement 04 Translator

    Lastly (for now…), we also need contributors to translate the english units/settlements/… names in russian, turkish, danish, swedish,...

    Of course, native speakers of these languages are especially welcome.
