    Default SS6.1 vs SS6.2

    Been using 6.1 for a very long time and just moved over to 6.2, but I would like to know what the general consensus is for which you consider best to have?

    TY

    1. Most of the SS sub-mod are based on SS6.1 Kingdom of heaven and Battle for the Baltic are both out of this world.

    2. SS6.2 is the current version and very stable has eye candy and a slight difficulty bump. easy = medium, medium = hard, etc. Few sub-mods for this baby at the moment...SS6.2 is made by gracul....

    Gracul is a modding God!!!!!

    3. SS6.3 is currently in beta and will be released in a few weeks {fingers crossed}

    This is a must have for SS6.2....

    [E2DI] Enhanced 2D Interfaces - update 07 Apr. (RR/RC Hotfix **07 Apr** RELEASE + Middle-Eastern ui v1.22 UPDATE + ME battle ui RELEASED + SE battle ui UPDATE + NE battle ui UPDATE)

    Was disappointed with all the backstabbing in 6.2 so I installed TheSavageAI. This is the same AI as RR/RC. Playing my first campaign with it right now, so I don't have a good reveiw yet. In 6.2, alliances were made and broken a whole lot in the beginning. It's not as common with the new AI, so far.

    Be nice to see what you think of "TheSavageAI".

    Be sure to get back soon .

    I'm playing 6.2 with RR/RC. I don't really get alot of backstabs and when I do they usually make sense. I miss 6.1 for the playable Mongols. I'm waiting patiently for a 6.2 version of Battle for the Baltic. I don't know how much longer I can wait. I may have to bite the bullet and downgrade.

    Would that be to just delete the SS folder and reinstall ss6.1?

    I'm wondering if it is possible to have both 6.1 and 6.2 in their own folders without having to as you put it, down grade.

    it is. renaming the folders and adjusting the stainless_steel_kingdoms.bat and cfg is all it takes. i got 5 parallel ss installs atm.

    What does adjusting the .bat and cfg involve?

    Mainly opening them with notepad, notepad++ and changing the paths to reflect the new name of the folder.
    For example you rename your 6.1 install folder which is in mods\Stainless_Steel_6 to Stainless_Steel_6_1
    Your new Stainless_Steel_6_1.bat would now have to look like this:
    Code:
    cd ..\..
    start kingdoms.exe @mods\Stainless_Steel_6_1\Stainless_Steel_6_1.cfg
    and the first line of Stainless_Steel_6_1.cfg (renamed or copied Stainless_Steel_Kingdoms.cfg)
    Code:
    [features]
    mod = mods/Stainless_Steel_6_1
    Its not necessary to rename Stainless_Steel_Kingdoms.bat and Stainless_Steel_Kingdoms.cfg as I did but its helpful (and of course its necessary if you want to use the abovementioned code without changing it to your needs).

    I understand how to rename the install folder and the .cfg. I'm not so sure about the bat file. Is the bat file the one just above the cfg file? What exactly do I need to do to it? Sorry, I'm not very good at this kind of stuff. Thanks for the help.

    There should be only two files named that way in that folder so it most likely is. Open it with editor / notepad, the program used to open text (txt) files and change all instances of Stainless_Steel_6 to whateveryournewfoldernameis.
