I allready have a good screen. A better screen wouldn't hurt, but I prefer just a good computers instead of a medium computer and a medium screen

I want a gaming/multimedia computer with windows 7. CAn anyone help me point out a nice deal or a good computer??
I really like the hp pavillion 6370 for now.

Thank you very much allready for your help

I know what everything in a computer does, but I hear a lot that somebody bought a computer with 6 gb mb ram and then he finds out that is 2gb is useless, because he doesn't has the right processor or something. I want to avoid this

So can someone (who can read dutch) say if this is a good deal, computer??

I am also unsure about choosing different components for a computer, because I really don't know if I will make a right decsision and it seems more expensive to me

I believe that's only if you are using a 32bit OS. I don't think the processor has anything to do with that.

Well are you gonna buy a pre-built PC or are you planning to build one yourself?

    Pre-built PC:
    Pros - Already Built
Cons - More Expensive, cheap brand parts, not knowing exactly what goes into the PC, could have amateur cable management job.

    Custom Built:
Pros - Cheaper, Good brand parts you choose yourself, Building it to fit your needs, each part brings it's own warranty, better cable management (needed for better airflow) FUN
Cons - Breaking a part by accident if not careful.

If you want to know which Dutch computer store is good then I can recommend Paradigit computers. Their service is really good and they were elected as best computer chain of stores in the Netherlands four years in a row.

Looked through the add eol and the video card kinda like sucks. If you're gonna play at that resolution I suggest you get a PC with a GTS 250 or higher (don't know the ATI equivalent but it should be good to).

I know a lot about computers but I'm not familiar with Dutch hardware sites, the only think I can suggest is if you want to do a self build use a site like komplett.

You forgot the custom build PC.

Pro: It's customised by you, for you. More and better choices than pre-built
Con: Expensive, not as many choices as building it yourself
Other: Not sure about the warranty

900€ should get you an awesome computer.

If you buy the parts at the same store, they should assemble the comp for you.

Don`t go for prebuilt ones as they almost always lack something.

Tell us, do you need a monitor, peripherals (keyboard, mouse) and how quiet do you want it to be (this might raise the cost and it`s completely unnecessary for normal work. That didn`t stop me from spending 200€ to silence mine, though).

I can use a monitor if for example it is a great deal off about 1100- 1200 euro combined with the pc.
I don't care about how quiet it is. Though it must be cooled and ventilated good, because I don't want a broken computer in 2 years.

Your friend made quite a mistake there

Your motherboard is dual-channel, and memory he recommended is triple channel.

4 GB of RAM is enough for now, and you can easily upgrade to 8 in two years or so when it becomes a chokepoint.

GPU is relatively weak... 5770 is a much better bet, and I would stretch to 5850 if possible in any way. It`s worth extra money, trust me, gotta put that shiny monitor to good use

And think about blu-ray. Unless you are certain you are going to watch movies on it, you are wasting 50€ there.

    thanks Odinarius!

I think I found something nice: The acer Aspire M7721.
    Here are the main specifications:

    Intel Core i7-920
    3 x 2048 gb ram memory (maximum is 12gb)
    DDR3 SDRAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GT330
    Intel X58 Express
    Blu-ray rom
    2tb memory
    Dedicated video memory 2048

As you can see the main problem is that the video card isn't very good. But I think the computer is very good for expanding in a few years.
    Please give suggestions or reactions

it is good depending on the price. If you'll buy it, change the GPU and a change in the PSU might be needed as well

Isn't changing that impossible? Heard somewhere that if you change the video card in a pre-made system, the computer won't recognise this hardware. Am I right or not???

Uhm, what? So much mis-information spreading around.

That's incorrect, a pre-made system is exactly the same as if you put it together yourself.

Well it depends if the mobo can handle the GPU and in this case the Intel X58 can "handle" the 5850 since it's a pretty standard mobo.
