So I just got Napoleon tried Multiplayer and boy are the people rude

So I went to a lobby and the guys room name was "Lets have fun" or something like that so I asked the guy "What are the rules?" and he goes "Get the rules are in the title Noob!" and then he kicked me.

This is why I host my games. I also cant join the majority of games because of No Response from host but w/e...

You haven't seen anything yet The Fool on The Hill. The guy that cussed you out and then booted you for no apparent reason is probably one of the more well behaved guys that plays Napoleon Total War Online!

If that is so I think I am just going to play the Single Player for now. The one game I did play the guy spammed Rockets and had nothing but milita after kicking his behind for using such a dumb tactic he unplugs his cord and I get no points.

If you're a decent player, you'll find that pretty much every Napoleon Total War game you play online which you don't host yourself will result in a desync or other form of "game dumping" by your opponent, The Fool on The Hill. Even if you host your own games, you'll have to finish every game against the A.I., since your opponents all will have "rage quit" long before the game is finished. However, if you suck really bad at playing Napoleon Total War, you will have no problem at all when it comes to "rage quitters". If I count opponent "rage quits" as victories, I win over 99% of the games I play in. However, if I only count games where all participants complete the game, I have lost every game in which I have participated!

Maybe it makes a difference when you play and on what server. Problems with bad behaviour are definitely the exception rather than the rule for me and I play whatever is going. Having said that If you want to get points the best thing you can do is host your own games. If players pull the plug you'll still get points and you won't need to ask about rules.

what AggonyOkeenan said, or when you play a good/polite player, make friends with them. Then over time you should be able to have a good game or have a good ally available when ever you are on. That or try to fight people in clans, they tend to be better behaved allthough you will most likely get pwned every battle.

Yeh i agree - there is some serious attitude in multiplayer!

TBH, it depends on who you're playing.
Try keeping a list of players who play unfarily, and add players you like playing with to your steam friends list.
You'll wade through the muck for a little bit but i general have pretty good luck with finding fair enough players.

Also, like Scipio_Africanus said, try hosting your own games.
Talk with the people you play in the chat for a bit to see if they seem like douches, and if they do, you can kick them

the internet tends to bring out the worst in people, especially when they can remain fairly anonymous.

there are alot of good people out there playing ntw. dont get disheartened by the idiots. u have to find ur feet and other like minded players, which u will do eventually. try joining a responsible clan and usually from there u will get half decent games...

Sometimes people just need to vent, thats what these forums are for.

I agree again with Scip. and Trip. Try to host your own games or join a clan/group. Also, join games with people that have a picture or a normal name or a clan tag. Not saying everyone that doesn't are bad people, but the people that don't bother are the usual perpetrators

I was just showing an example of why Decreux's statemant was flawed.

He basically said that people with weird names are bad, yet he himself has what most people would consider to be a wierd name.

Well not really because his statement wasn't:

"everyone with weird names / default pics are bad people"

it was:

"bad people usually have weird names / default pics"

Which is not the same thing.


Just in the same way that the statements "French people speak French" and "all people who speak French are French" do not mean the same thing.

You should not judge people by their names or their star rating. But as a general rule of thumb (there are asshat clanners / exceptions to the "rule" too) people who act like cocks generally turn out to have weirdass names / default picture.
