Corrupted Save

I just got my first CTD in year 1787. That 'auto-save' and my 2 other saves from that year just CTD when I try to load. I know this is a problem (1st time I've gotten it) and I've searched this forum. Should I delete those bogus saves? If so, where do I find them to eradicate them?
