How to mod unit stats.
I find the numerous tutorials too broad, so I would like to ask some specific questions.
I want to change unit stats for the basic Darthmod with all of the basic DLCs.
I want to change:
Range of muskets, bows etc...
Unit's accuracy
Unit's reload skill
Unit's attack/defence
Unit's morale
I'm trying to use the intuitive DB editor, but I don't know which table to edit.
First it asks me to load
Patch4
Patch5
Darthmod
Unit compatibility
Then I see a whole bunch of
Darth_eueunit
Darth_unit
EUA unit
Garrison Unit tables
Finally, in each table there are a whole bunch of entries for what looks like to be the same unit.
For example:
east_ethnic
east_provincal
euro_rangers
euro_dragoons
euro_dragoons sweden
etc...
Which one is supposed to represent the unit that you get in multiplayer and custom battles?
Lastly, do I have to make a new mod table to make the changes take effect?
And one last thing, do why are the units forced to split between early and late eras? Medieval II has the "all eras" option.
Thanks.

Re: How to mod unit stats.
you have to edit DMUC_Core.pack
unit stats are in
at Darth_unit_stats_land table (for the basic units)
then there are many unit packs which were not made by Darthmod team but also included in the mod
so if you wan't to edit those units you'll have to edit those tables as well
for the ranges you must edith Darth_projectiles table
for custom battle you need Darth_untis table there you can see 2 colums MP early and MP late
set them to true for the units you want to be available in early and late battles

Re: How to mod unit stats.
Thanks.
Darthmod says that it made the muskets more lethal at close range, and less lethal at long range. How did it do that?
Also, I can't find information on how the defence value and shield work against projectiles.

Bump.
And where are the DLC units stored in? I loaded patch 4 and 5 but can't see them in the unit_stats tables.

Re: How to mod unit stats.
I put "mod My_mod.pack" in the user script file. I made some edits to the musket ranges in the projectiles table, but it wouldn't affect the in game stats. How do you load mods into the game?
This is not related to the Darthmod, I already uninstalled it. I want to make a new mod.

Re: How to mod unit stats.
I see husserlTW that your are a true modding specialist, my congratulations!!
Ok, but not so fast i have a question about editing units stats.
Why the changes don't appeared in the ETW?
I made a new pack file with new range values but nothing happens.
I save script user file in Unicode and i added a proper line with the mod name.
I have a couple of mods so i checked the load order and launch ETW via Mod Manager.
And You guess what? Nothing changed!
Please tell me what i done wrong??

Re: How to mod unit stats.
Is there another mod pack with the same table (e.g. Darth's)? If yes make your file a "movie" type. In PFM right click and Choose an Action... This type of packs do not need to edit user script and the game loads them last.

Re: How to mod unit stats.
Nevermind, I couldn't get it to work so I just used the mod manager to launch the game instead.
A new question, how can you remove units from the game?

Re: How to mod unit stats.
The easiest to disable them in units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions_tables.

Re: How to mod unit stats.
Why does the game crash whenever I try to start a campaign? Custom battles work fine.

Re: How to mod unit stats.
There are many good modders in TWC.
I suppose you changed projectiles table. Try to make your pack "movie" type (Choose a pack action, under menu items of Pack File Manager). It happened to me projectile changes not work as a "mod" mod pack. Changing only the type of pack is not enough to save change so save as your pack.

Re: How to mod unit stats.
I see that you found a proper table in patch.pack file, my congratulations!
Now try to save the changes and change the pack type to "movie".
Yes, i' m not kidding!
Open the pack file with Pack File Manager and do what i say.
I changed this way the ranges of projectiles in projectiles_table table.
I don't know why. but normally the game don't accepted my changes....
But when i changed the pack format to "movie" all works fine.
Try this dude and post here if this helped or not!
You may stick to an tutorial for this problem or another thread....

Re: How to mod unit stats.
So just change it to "movie" and then load it up with mod manager the same way ?
