If a sword bothers you so much then I suppose this mod isn't for you. Things aren't in the crusades aren't about being historically "right" their about what looks amazing and plays great. If that means giving a german knight as scottish sword then thats what it means.

Well to help set some things straight, as Caius said that this mod was never intended to be 100% historically accurate. Historical opinions for the most part are like ass holes – everybody has one. Fact is most of the units turned out to be very period for the most part, so this is something that you guys shouldn’t worry about at all trust me.

I still love the mod I'm just suggesting something ok? I'm sorry but it's just a little wierd that a Teutonic knight has a Scottish sword. It's like giving a Templar a scimitar.

I don't think it is as drastic as you make out. Heck, if anything you should be arguing that the sword is infact 300+ years too early. I know plain well that a teutonic knight should not be weilding a 16th century scottish claymore. But, the point of this mod is not to be accurate but to give the appearance of it. If you wanted to you could find hundreds of out of period equipment. Heck my great helms for the inner circle knights and grandmasters are from the 14th century. The teutonic emblems are also from much latter dates. My english knights wear helmets that resemble early Sugarloaf great helmets. The point is that I am creating a mod that LOOKS medieval and is immediatly recognized as such. That means using cliche swords like a scottish claymore on my cliche two-handed teutonic swordsmen or using Pembridge great helms on my knights then thats what I want to do. And really when you get right down to it, isn't that what its all about... what I want to do?

I agree, there should be the Byzantimes amd Armenians, but I know that this probably won't happen because CB is just so far in the production of this mod that adding another faction(s) would add months to the realese date. But I would rather have the Crusaders split into three different factions and the Saracens spli into more so that you don't have to manage an entire emipe from the start of the campaign.

You won't be managing an empire from the start. You will be battling one. If you looked at the Crusader campaign you will see that they hold but barely any provinces on the map. The saracen is the exact same. They hold only provinces in egypt at the start of their game. There is a cilician men-at-arms in the game and there are 3 byzantine units (infantry, archer and cavalry). You won't however get to fight with them, however you will fight against them.

CB, what color scheme did you plan for England? I know from research that England used Red background with a white cross, assigned by the pope for the crusade of the kings. I noticed some VERY nice units with lots of variety. I too when I seen the movie wished for a KoH for RTW, but the main problem is Engine. Maybe MTW2 would be better, if so its a must for KoH. Nice Idea on a small mod. I suggest going with 1.5 since you dont sound like you will be using any BI features, plus 1.5 has more users than BI. Heck I just got BI myself in the bargin Bin, sold my first copy a few days after buying it. Couldnt see wasting the money for it at the time.

Just noticed the latest Pictures VERY NICE! Professional Job all the way and Impressive it has the feel of the movie. I imagine you got the wonderful KoH soundtrack too? ;-) Looks to be a fun mod. Also I take back on the 1.5, I just remembered you would be using the Religion feature, so I think this is mainly a BI mod. Good work again, truly impressed. I do wish it came out in time for the Director cut of KoH. BTW did you get that DVD yet, it adds alot to the movie, and there are some deleted scenes I added BACK into the movie that they removed.

First I must say this is best looking mod for rtw so far... congratulations

    now some questions
    what about ai?
well all know that ai in original game is no match for experienced player.
    will you add/make costum formations?
will you give more money to ai than to player?

    sorry for my bad english

and please make battles last longer than in rome.

We are planning on using a batch file system that will give the AI a significant leg up. They will get more money, lower recruitment times, and lower recruitment costs compared to the player controlled faction. I am looking into formations however it will be the last thing we look into.

    HOLY ****ING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not worldly possible to express my profound love, admiration, respect, everything for you and your mod Caius. I remember back when you started it, it at first glance, immediately I thought that this will be truly awesome

    A few questions
    1) Will the cities (including capitals and other castles like Krak de Chevalier) be like the RTW layout?

    2) Will this mod be much slower than RTW? I assume it will be slower, but by how much, do you know? (I'm still downloading it )

    Hm..........other than that..........

I really love your map, and the fact that the Nile is navigable. I think the fact that it's such a small map helps that become possible. And I like how you've integrated spies so much into the game. in RTW I just used spies to open gates, but now they've been redefined.

So, what I'm trying to say is......

Bravo, good man. Thank you for making this mod, for us and for yourself. This is truly one of the greatest (if not the greatest) mods I have yet to see.
