    Default The Total War Hourglass

In the wake of all this silence from CA and all the rumors of a new TW game in the (yet another one) Pre Midle Ages era, I thought I'd see if ther was anything at all on the TW homepage. I was greated (As I'm sure many of you were) by an hourglass, the sands of time running down. Last night it stopped at 1769. This morning, 1751. I'm not sure I like where this is going...

Theories indicate it'll end on the era the next TW is set in ending on the E3 date that the next TW is announced.

So you kind of hate everything except for almost everything?

    Love: 270-1500, 1800-1914
    Hate: <270, 1500-1800, 1914>

And 'hate' is a pretty strong word for what is after just a ing game - I mean did a 16th century Samurai just travel through time and kill your mother or something?

Does the mere thought of a katana or a wakizashi bring back terrible memories of the strange figure materialising in your living room and decapitating your poor helpless mama?

If not terribly sorry that CA only released 4 games that you liked and are personally insulting you by even discussing bringing out something that you don't.

There is enough diversity in the game but not for shogun original as they had a rather small budget.

1744, for now. I see no point in tracking it, we all know it is Shogun 2.

Well if they do a WW1 game, then CA better have the entire world or at least 80-90 percent of the world other wise i am definitely not going to buy it. And i never played the original Shogun but it does sound interesting.

I will not buy it if it is Shogun 2. Rome is overdue for a sequel.

Every total war game needs a sequel, sequels tend to be mildly better in most cases then originals.

How can Rome be overdue for a sequel, when Shogun was the first one and the far east has been forgotten since then? Sure japan is too small, (I wouldn't buy it if its a repeat of that ) but what if it included china and korea, maybe even SE asia and of course the mongols? Why does europe get all the attention? Ancient China should be the one getting attention. The truth is that in the 3rd and 2nd cent BC while the hestatii were throwing spears and using short swords, the chinese were using crossbows and arms tech that Europe wouldn't replicate until they got well out of the dark ages. If the Chinese has been expanionist enough after the victory of Chin , they would have destroyed Rome before they Caesar even had a chance to say "veni...ugh!" The only reason they didn't was politics and discontent with the first Emperor.
Rome is nice, but the Far East would kick their butts in a fight. Look at the history.
