anyone else think this? i meen ww1 gas masks freak me out more than anything else i can think of. and all the weird huge victorian hosbitals are scary too. just wondered if anyone thought the same

ha i didnt say much as im not sure how to put it into words. but the whole time scale gives me the creeps. i guess its the rapid expansion of unregulated science that is so dangerous back then. there was a program on the bbc about mental asylums in the last 2 centuries. i meen the treatment was horrible. all the primitive lobotomy's they did and new drugs they pionered. and the normal hosbitals wherent exactly great. things like the gas masks they used for surgery look scary.
