The Creative Assembly sprung a significant pre-E3 leak today. From one source, EuroGamer was told of the studio's plans to create a 2012 Olympics title, and then, hours later, we received an email revealing that a new Total War title is to be announced at E3.
Though in possession of full details, our lives wouldn't be worth living if we divulged what we know, but let's just say that the new PC-only game eschews the gunpowder weaponry of recent Total War titles and gets back to basics. And if you need further reassurance of this information's veracity, check out this well-timed tweet from the developers.

A back-to-basics game with no gunpowder units almost certainly has to mean a game set in the ancient world.

Well, being of course happy if it is a RTW 2 thing, I'm really relaxed about this. What comes will come or not ... we will see.
Also I will not abandon ETW with DMUC because this game is great and I like the gunpowder area more as melee age ... what does not mean I don't like such things of course. My only hope is that it isn't such a crap as Med2TW and more like the EB Mod for RTW with further features and of course ... full modding possibilities!
We will see what it will be at least.

I certainly don't hope it will be Shogun 2. Roman era has been done to death by games already but this is the age of sequels I suppose. My money is on Rome 2, although I'd prefer to see something else.
