    \Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6_1\data\world\maps\base
    vs
    \Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6_1\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\Late_Era_Campaign

Check the one in the base folder. Can't guarantee anything.

bane is correct. Files for the Early Era Campaign map are in the maps/base folder

First guess: You need to delete the maps.rwm or it won't be regenerated with the new information.
