A bad joke!
There are already two other Rome 2 topics on the front page of this forum alone, let alone the billions upon billions of other Rome 2 topics in other parts of TWC. You had to make a separate topic for this?
At any rate, that article is dated July '07. Old news.

Naval combat also offers more variety with the addition of coastal battles. Islands can work as effective cover for your ships, while sand bars and reefs can be used as traps against an enemy fleet.
Accessible and in-depth empire-building gameplay
A streamlined User Interface makes management of your kingdom much easier. Build and govern cities, recruit and train troops, conduct diplomacy and manage your agents – each feature is now introduced with comprehensive tutorials, gradually revealing the depth of the Shogun 2 campaign map – the heart and soul of the Total War experience.

absolutely, because the success of the game d epends on how good it is on its own. honestly most people wont care bout mods as long as the MP is good. Mods usually start when people get bored with the main version.
knowing SEGA mods would immediatly become very vital...
No. No. Just no. For the sake of the glory that is RTW they may not make a new one. They have obviously replaced every single person that worked on rome immediatly after mtw2 to begin with.

odi et amo quare id faciam fortasse requiris / nescio sed fieri sentio et excrucior
Gotta be fake, there is talk of a improved AI.
Shogun 2 would be nice. As long as the multiplayer is decent and fluid, and has a chat lobby, and there's improved Ai it should be fine. Then they can get started on Rome 2
Hope it is as good as the original.....and CA shouldn't rush these games out....better make it good....or back to R:TW
So apparently it was leaked by the turkish total war website. What pericles_plato says is apparently true.Though someone in the Turkish website could be fooling us.
Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all..."we're way way pre-alpha and what that means is there is loads of features not just in terms of the graphics but also in terms of the combat and animations that actually aren't in the game yet.So the final game is actually gonna look way way better than this!” - James Russell, CA
Beware of scoundrels
dosent matter if its moddable.
yea where did the turks find out from anyway? I was going to change all the mentions of Japan in that thing to things about rome and see if people would buy it but i didnt have the time... (although someone would have thought it to be true, then others would have started)
odi et amo quare id faciam fortasse requiris / nescio sed fieri sentio et excrucior
The typical person doesn't buy a game because it's modable. And if a game is only bearable because of player-based community mods, then that is a huge problem on so many levels...
If that leak is true, and it is Shogun 2, they are only going to have 9 factions? Seriously? The original Shogun had 7 playable and considering the timeframe they could have A LOT more than just 9 factions. IF the leak is true, sounds like another bare-bones title from CA.
well thats just a plain fact-vanilla anything doesnt have that much playablility thats a fact you get through a couple of campaigns and you realize your doing the same stuff over and over with different named regions and troops and you realize the AI handles you the same ALL of the time and then you find yourself looking for mods. Its the trend.
They wont make it that modable thats a fact RTW and M2 is the most moddable game we will ever see out them ever again they wont make anything that moddable again. I hope they prove me wrong but I wouldnt count on it.
They watch these forums and when they announced Empire everybody started announcing mods to be made off of that plateform then they started getting other product ideas and said we should make it and make money off of them instead of them making what they want for free.
