!! I'm running the game with 2gbs of ram, most games do not require really a computer to have more than 2gbs, 4 for good measure.

I use the 4g I would like to have 8 in my pc for that matter.

Here is the thing is this for games? If it is drop it, there is so few games that use more than 3g, even 4g.

If it is because you do a butt load of multitask and your experiencing slow downs, then well this is the one for you.

You absolutely cannot go without 48 GB of ram.

Most games (actually, 99% of them) still use only 2GB, plus with 1 GB for system and background, you`re safe with only 3 GB.

That is because most programs are still natively 32-bit, thus limited to 2GB. You can have 12 or whatever gigabytes of RAM, programs will still use 2GB.

Only recently, some games such as Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising, require 64-bit systems and more then 2GB in order to enable ultra settings, since with all the high-resolution textures, 2GB is not enough storage space.

Empire is natively 32-bit application, but it can be made to use more then 2GB through some obscure change in game files (I read about it somewhere on this forum, can`t find it anymore), however I seem to recall it was unstable.

So, short answer, for the purpose of running Empire, it is absolutely the same thing. Go for 9GB.

If you are rendering or doing some other memory intensive work on your PC, then better read specialized support for your programs to see if there is any benefit.
