    Default Any AI Mods (Like Germanicus' Mod) for SS 6.1 Only?

    I refuse to install SS 6.2, but unfortunately, it seems most mods are for 6.2 or install 6.2 on their own. The ones that ARE for SS 6.1 (like Grim Reality) up the difficulty to insane levels. I want an enjoyable game, not one that only 1% of the total MTW2 players can survive.

    Are there any good mods that don't use SS 6.2 or impossible challenges?

    Almost all submods are for 6.1, not 6.2. Check out SavageAI and Lusted's AI in the submods forum

    Assuming that this is a factor - what about decreasing the game difficulty? No one says you have to play on H or VH. It still is a game and meant to give you a good time...

    The problem with VH and H difficulty is not the diplomacy that doesn't make sense ( half of the world that you have perfect relations with suddenly declares war on you ) or the ai using better composed armies and proper tactics.

    Granted, several of the battleai mods improve it by far, but you can win ( even if it's close ) most of the time without being a veteran general. So the only way to make it a challenge is giving the AI more resources so he can still win. This is all good and nice, but the stack spam and ai managing to keep spamming them when their only territory remaining is a castle quickly becomes time consuming and frustrating.

    You can not auto resolve because of the imbalance of numbers, and even if you could, you would have to play it yourself and use everything you know to get those heroic victories so your forces don't take too many losses to make the prospect of winning the war impossible.

    I think that's exactly the essence of the game - winning the battles yourself.

    not when you fight 20 battles a turn versus the same Egypt stacks.

    Yeah its really annoying.. on one of my campaigns with Kwazh, i allied Egypt and helped them to take out the Turks and broke my alliance with Byzies when they started a war.. After Egypt took Constantinople, they attacked me and sent about ~20 full stacks of militia troops.. I hate to fight 3-4 stacks of militia every turn, thats the biggest thing that annoys me in SS.

    In my current campaign with Lithuania it`s the complete opposite. I eleminated Novgorod and Kievan Rus are contained by my allies Khwarezmian Khanate and Poland. Took me about half an eternity to finally provoke the Danes to declare war on me.

    I drool over battle - but it has to fit into the greater blueprints. And I have to stay calm otherwise having the whole Christendom breathing down my neck...

    About the repetition some face:
    If you know you can win then you normally also know what losses you'll get.. that leaves the door open for using the "auto_win attacker" cheat and disbanding units emulating the losses. Left aside I rarely see the combination VH/M here where you'll still face the same backstacking but having to fight 6 consecutive heroic victories is no longer necessary and auto_calc does its job.
