On my Prussian campaign (campaign difficulty 3/4), the Marhatas took over all of India, Afghanistan and Iran in no time at all. It became so rich and powerful, everyone got into an alliance with it. And since the most powerful AI faction is programed to be aggressive towards you, I had the Marhatas send a full stack in a ship to Berlin. After a few turns, another full elite stack of navy+army turned up in my Venetian ports. One entered Croatia. Another then entered East Prussia... I mean, seriously, why are the Marhatas acting like Viking raiders and why are they becoming to powerful? As if handling Sweden, Austria, Poland-Lithuania and France is not bad enough already!
Then on my British campaign (campaign and battle difficulty 4/4), I attacked Calcutta and Orrisa and took them. This was when the Mughals were still alive. The Marhatas sent full stacks to reclaim their cities and kicked me out of India. So I was busy kicking out the French from North America and subduing the native nations and, yup you've guessed it, full stacks of elite Marhata units land in Jamaica and the Bahamas.... SERIOUSLY, what the hell? =/
In both cases though, I managed to survive. It's 1753 now and I've just kicked the Marhatas out of North America... most of which is Hindu by now and bears the best of south Indian architecture...
Does the same happen with anyone else?
