Default I am puzzled by some things on my Empire: Total War installation

I have multiple questions to you fellow gentlemen of TWC. They all are about my copy of ETW.

First of all, I'd like to say that for ages gentlemen have worn hats and so on. That is to say, they've worn them correctly, like any sane person would do. If you were a high-ranking military person in the army, I bet you'd be laughed off the face of the earth if you wore your clothes backwards.

I however am NOT laughing at this:

WHY IS THE FRENCH GENERAL WEARING HIS TRICORNE IN AN UNNATURAL WAY???? Why is this bug persistent even when I delete the whole ETW? This is what the hat should look:

ALSO, why is my version of ETW patched to version 1.5 ?

ALSO, why do I have all these "native" files in my ETW folder?

The bug is using the wrong model, and the natives is DLC unlocked after you urchase the Warpath campaign.

EDIT: Download Brightworks 2.0 it solves the problem.

The funny thing is that I haven't bought the Warpath DLC.

Hmmm, what is this Brightworks you speak of? I shall be doing some research and try to solve the situation...

EDIT: If this works, I'm going to rep you like a machine

Sorry for double-post, I just have to thank Dynamo11 for solving my problem. +Rep

The other problems still remain though. Why do I have a 1.5 version of my game and why do I have the native folders in my comp. I have tried deleting them but they redownload

ETW patches itself without the user's knowledge. That's steam for you.

I'm guessing the native files are supposed to be there, and I'm assuming that the Warpath Campaign is one of those expansions where the info is already on your comp, you just don't have the key to unlock it. Paying for the expansion gives you the key, and unlocks the files already on your comp.

All the models are already there, so that you can play multiplayer with players who own DLC, so they can use the units. You still have to purchase they if you want to use them yourself.

and to you final point, the latest patch, patch 5 - which should have been version 1.6 had an admin. error on release, therefore in game you will only see reference to version 1.5.

To reassure yourself that your are correctly patched check in your main games data folder and make sure you have a patch 5

Thank you good people of TWC. The thing is I haven't played ETW for MONTHS so I didn't have any idea what was going on. Now however, it seems all solved.

I'm guessing the native files are supposed to be there, and I'm assuming that the Warpath Campaign is one of those expansions where the info is already on your comp, you just don't have the key to unlock it. Paying for the expansion gives you the key, and unlocks the files already on your comp.

All right it then. REP for you both and thanks for the help!

Oh I see it now. It is patched correctly afterall. Thank you +REP

Yep, as far as I'm concerned, this thread is now concluded. +REP for you too

    Right...
That is right. Also, incorrect facial hair is a big turnoff.
