    Default RR/RC with Steam?

After about a week and 1/2 of scouring the forums and messing around with my computer, I was able to get Stainless Steel 6.1 to work with Steam! However, I have one last modification to make. The entire reason I started to play Medieval 2 again was for the RR/RC mod; it completes the game, which before felt unfinished. I sucessfully extracted the contents of the compact folders (saved to my desktop) into a secondary folder in my stainless steel folder as a precaution. Now I have the data, but don't know how to apply it to 6.1. It can't be opened, and cutting/pasting/sending it to my 6.1 folder only plops it down into it without overwriting or doing anything. This thread holds the data I'm talking about: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=300716. Should I copy and paste it into the data folder or what? Any ideas?

P.S.- If there is a more up-to-date version of the mod, I would really appreciate that over this. I can't make heads or tails of how to go about this whole process I've been at it for so long.

hm, I'd just back up your files and try it out, I don't have MTW2 on steam but I'd say that's the easiest way to try it, apparently no one else has steam w/ mtw2

What are the benefits of installing steam with M2TW?

Backing up/reinstallation worked, Thank you! As far as downloading ANY total war game via steam, I would advise against it. Box games are simply more mod-friendly and tend to have a faster install time. I used to have a box version, but I gave it away amd only recently got back into Total War with RR. I'd give box versions an A and steam a B-.
