That's not from any movie soundtrack. That's music made specifically for trailers, and it's been used in many. Most notably the launch trailer for Mass Effect 2.
Speaking of, I will consider highly cinematic videogames as "movies" for the purposes of answering this thread. They are, often enough, interactive movies.
So, for best soundtracks:
Metal Gear Solid series, but especially MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. Not only because the music is amazing, but also because that game is the most movie-like of any of them; with at least nine hours of cutscenes, it's more like four movies running back-to-back than four segments of a game being played. Though MGS3 is also a good choice, as there was even a limited edition that edited all of the cutscenes together, with new ones added to bridge the gameplay gaps, into a three-hour film. The music in that game was also great, playing off of the whole 60's-spy-film vibe.
Mass Effect and, even moreso, Mass Effect 2 are great choices as well. Great games, with absolutely beautiful music that fit the universe quite well.
Now, to actual non-interactive films:
Besides the old standards involving John Williams and Hans Zimmer. I will say that, regardless of what you think of the movies themselves, the Transformers films by Michael Bay had amazing music. If you don't like the movies, that's whatever; but there is no way you cannot enjoy the soundtracks.
Also, Shirley Walker. Anything done by Shirley Walker.
PS) to the above- haha, no. It's good, but I like the 1989 one's music better. And Mask of the Phantasm's even more.

To deviate from the obvious choices I would say Sauf Keita: Tomorrow from the Ali soundtrack. Very powerful.

Flash Gordon.
The only reason people remember this movie is because of its soundtrack. The acting a dialogue are so ridiculous on this movie, if you havn't seen it and want to watch a movie thats hilarious because its so bad put this on the top of your list. The music video shows some of the most ridiculous scenes. MST3k should have done this movie.

Hans Zimmer is the best composer out there today
I've never been a big fan of Zimmer. He has some cool sounding music but I find most of what he does sounds uninspiring, at least from a musical point. Most of his stuff is good but none of it stands out and makes me think, "Wow, that's extraordinary!" The Dark Knight is an interesting composition. It's very "noisy", I'd say or even ambient in its feel. It has the simplest theme, the Batman theme, I think I've heard, although I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.
While I don't think Hans Zimmer is the "best" cinematic composer today, I would say he is one of the most prolific and popular.

I'd say it is one of his best. I think I like it more than any of his others. I'd be interested in hearing a purely orchestral work by him because some of the tracks in the Gladiator sound more...authentically classical (if that makes sense?). One reason for my seeming dissatisfaction with Zimmer may be because he does a lot of action movies, especially of recent, and they tend to not give the composer the time, inspiration, whatever to make a more extraordinary score.
Also this Clint Mansell track is pretty amazing
Clint Mansell also composed this track from Requiem for a Dream: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKLpJtvzlEI We've all heard that song before for many things. Luckily for Mansell it has become extremely popular in pop culture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lux_Aet...for_a_Dream%29 I love his The Fountain score. It's absolutely fantastic.

Apocalypse Now wins hands down.
This is just one of the instrumentals.
A lot of great non-instrumentals too. The Doors, Rolling Stones...etc..

Mission Impossible 2
Haven't heard The Dark Knight one, but I like the music from the movie.
