    Default Third Age Total War: (1.4) Epic Orchestral Soundtrack (First Version 1.0 Released)

    **Update**
    Ive moved this project to Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Modding for that game on the music department is alot easier than on TW. However feel free to continue using this version for TW.

    Im working on a Sub mod on epic scale (music wise) for Third Age total war that adds several new songs by Shinsei Nihon Symphony Orchestra for those like myself who love epic orchestral music. So really anyone with an affinity for Beautful music will love this sub-mod. Im gonna go ahead and release it, and for the most part, it should work. I think all the files are right places, so there shouldn't be any issues. But if the installation direction is wrong for this type of mod then please let me know! feedback is also appreciated!!!

    ===First Version Released (1.0) For Third Age: Total War Mod (1.4)===
    http://www.filefront.com/16576341/Epic_Soundtrack.rar/

    ===Version 1.0===
    Full Orchestral soundtrack.
    Very high quality songs (Audio Wise)
    Battle Music for Dale, Gondor, Orc factions, High Elves, Silvan Elves.
    Campaign Music for Dale, Gondor, Orc Factions, High Elves, Silvan Elves, Harad & Rhun.
    Win & Loss music for most factions
    New Credits song
    New Menu Song.
    Some other stuff also.

    ===Installtion===
    Installation is in the readme. Just make sure you backup any files it might replace.

    ===Future planned changes===
    Will make all the songs smaller in size
    Add even more music
    Add music or replace music where it doesn't fit.

    So what is The Record of Lodoss War? Well firstly it's a Epic Fantasy story much like LOTR is and it's often regarded has having one the best full orchesteral music scores like no other anime has ever had. And at the time of it's release there was nothing quite like it back then, and theres still isn't anything like it. Think of it as being the Japanese version of LOTR and you get the image of how awesome Record of Lodoss War is. And being a huge fan of the fantasy genre and of the show itself im going to do it some justice and include songs from the show into the mod to make for one of the best music and gameplay experiences ever. And no, im not going to have song that include some japanese guy or woman singing on it, because then that wouldn't make sense then for a fantasy game to have japanese speaking or singing people in. Theres actually only a few songs which actual singing on them, out of the 123 song OST. Please give the mod a shot. I think you will enjoy the songs. And i still think it's one of the most engadging and most epic animes evet. I personally recommened you get a chance to watch it. And like with with most anime there is english & japanese version, so preference is up to you. (I personaly only watch english)

    Okay! after a somewhat short break im starting work on the second version of the mod. So basicly im going to downsize of all the music files to provide a smaller download for the second version, im going to avoid cutting down the audio quality as much as i can. But they may be some loss, i will also be adding a few new songs where needed also, but they will be in the patchnotes rather than the progress log. And get a start on the Dwarfs. I'll also keep updating the progress report for the second version whenever i add or change anything.

    ===Progress Completed for second version version===

    Total Progress = 28%

    Green = Finished.
    Yellow = Added, but may change.

    === Faction Completion ===
    Rohan = 100%
    Gondor = 100%
    Elves = 100%

    === Pre Battle song Preview ===
    This will be the song that plays when you encounter an enemy force, when it shows you troop numbers etc. This song was my first choice actually that i wanted to use in the Sub-mod.

    === New Dale Campain Map Song Preview ===
    This is one of the new songs for Dales Campaign map. I wanted to keep the tone for Dale as close as i could for the culture. This is the kind of song you could hear if you walked into a Dale Inn.

    === New Rohan Camapaign Map Song Preview ===
    One of the Songs currently being used on Rohan Camapaign map. Ive kept the songs true to the culture.

    === New Evil Campaign Map Song Preview ===
    For the evil side of the game i didn't want your run of the mill orcish drums, and chants. I want the player to feel a sense of dark evil and power, hidden plans deep within the enemy's ranks, like theres a ever glooming shadow taking over Middle earth. So song's like this will be played on the orc factions campaign.

    === New Harad & Rhun Campaign Map Song Preview ===
    For the desert folk of East Rhun & Harad i kept with the theme of desert (thankfully theres a desert kingdom in Record of Lodoss War) so i was able to keep the tone very desertish for Harad & Rhun. I was able to use plenty of the songs for these two factions and the music fits perfectly, and the result is good.

    Yes im aware of some of them. Firstly i may not even even release it puplicly, it just depends what the progress is like. Secondly im pretty sure the Third age mod in away is already using copyrighted music from a number of sources, so it doesn't mater if i make a music mod or not. Thirdly i belive the sub-mod is within the fair use act, by that im not making a profit from it. Heck Even Oblivion has a LOTR Music mod. And in away The Third Age mod itself is kinda going against copyright tobegin with because it's using designs and some music etc from someone else. I remember some time ago Microsoft closing down this Halo mod for C&C generals back in 04.

    And lastly i belive the studio who made the songs went bust back in 2003 and closed down. And to my knowledge no one has ever bought the rights to the Anime from where the songs are from since then. So im guessing no one gives a crap anymore legally about the songs. And it's pretty low chance that some random japanese composer who made the songs will happen to find this mod, some pretty low chances imo.

    I wouldn't concern yourself with copyright restrictions. As long as you are not making a profit their investors will not care because they are not losing potential profits. Not to mention the fact that they will not even know it is being used, so how could it possibly hurt them. If anything you may bring them more business by spreading the word, which you have just done. Worst case they would ask that you stop, but I seriously doubt it.

    Yep exactly. In away im hoping this sub-mod in away brings awareness to Record of Lodoss War and it's soundtrack which is nearly 20 years old now.

    I checked them out and they are pretty good. They aren't really original but they do put a good spin on some good ol' tunes that I love. "Passing Heart" is a good and relaxing one, definitely worth checking out.

    http://www.24listen.com/shinsei-mp3.html I believe some of these songs at the bottom of the link page belong to them, and they are free and legal to listen to.

    The pre-battle music didn't really impress me, but I did like the Dale music. Very calm and relaxing, sounds almost like the old campaign music from Rome: Total War. That makes it a win in my book.

    And no, I've never heard of this before, so you're definitely generating interest. Good work and good luck!

    Running into a problem, ive deleted and made sure that the factions don't play al6_enemy.mp3 but it's still playing in the game when ever two armys clash. Anyone know why? because it's annoying. And another thing i think the songs are not updating. Ive added them but there not being added in-game.

    Damn problems.

    Edit: Ive messed my game up even more now. All i get are these loud beeps and noise from my speakers when i start a battle.

    I know Deedlit would not mind me putting this here. Deedlit and I among others are working on a mod that is based on the Record of Lodoss War. Link to the mod thread is in the link.
