    Default Mouse Suggestions

My mouse has been acting spotty recently. I've experienced problems like needing to repeatedly click to execute basic internet browser commands, and now I have all sorts of problems highlighting text. It's a Logitech LX3 Optical mouse and it may be wearing out.

Any suggestions for a reasonably priced, high quality, all-purpose mouse ?

Microsoft mice are comfortable, reasonably ergonomic so there comfortable, the 3000 series mouse can be had for £15 and I've won my share of Call of Duty 4 battles with this.

a couple things come to mind...

    - have you changed mouse pads recently? I find many optical mice to be rather picky about its surface
    - is it chordless? mine is...and the location of the USB receiver can be problematic...if it is too close to speakers, for instance, it messes with the connections and it gets spotty (also if it is too close to the HD)

I've been using the Logitech LX3 for over a year now and I like it. It's smooth, fast and for the price it was a good buy.

That's the one he's already using, if he likes it that much (it's not expensive) then he might as well get the someone unless he is using this opportunity to upgrade to a premium/gaming mouse.

Fail from my part there Anyway Microsoft usually have decent, cheap mouses. I personally wouldn't really spend as much as $60+ on a mouse.

Thanks for these suggestions everyonel...my mouse (Logitech LX 3) isn't chordless and I haven't had any problems with it for the 1.5 years I've owned it, but suddenly I just can seem to highlight text properly anymore. I don't use a mouse pad with the LX3, I find it works better on just a plain wooden surface. I've cleaned the surface and the mouse to be sure, but nothing's changed. My conclusion is it's another cheap Chinese-made electronic component and I guess I'd rather substitute another cheap Chinese-made electronic component for it....

My vintage 2007 era Dell keyboard on the other hand remains rock solid although the Ctrl key sticks sometimes because it broke off when I threw the keyboard during a gaming snafu (funny how I don't remember what I was playing at the time...but it must have been ETW )

Microsoft Habu is a decent mouse if it's still available, I have a feeling it's been discontinued though.
