How to gain goverment popularity?

I've been working a little on getting THe People's Crown medal, 100% approval rating, and am currently on 95%, started at about 75%, but not sure how to gain approval rating, and the only thing I've done is win battles and improve production and trade, is that the factors, or are there any others, that play in on government approval rating?

Not sure but have you reduced taxes? Surely that would result in government approval.

Reducing taxes always increases approval. Just set them as low as they can go for both classes and watch your popularity rise =D
Also, anything that makes your population happy will increase your popularity.
so researching technologies that make them happy, not sacking cities when you capture them, and having ministers with positive traits that increase happiness are what you want to go for

Reduce taxes, get rid of Unis etc.

Easy, play as Bavaria, hit end turn.

That's how I got mine.

I did get to 100% a few times but never got this acheivement.

Ok here's a few ways

1. Do an instant election or kick some members from the cabinet(if you can)
2. lowering taxes always works
3. Not betraying, lying, or making alliances to countries that are historically aggressive towards you, as well as I've said before, no betraying your alliances or pacts
4.don't let your towns be taken or run out of food(famine)


There's a few, better be damn happy just typed all this out on my iPod touch lol

The Ppl's crown achievement seems bugged. I had 100% popularity in alot of GCs, but I didn't got it...

I think winning battles also raises popularity.
I'm not sure whether this is one of the MPC only achievements (as the 6-allies-at-the-same-time one seems to be).

It all matters about public order. Winning battles gives a bonus to publif order,and losing much gives an...anti-bonus

after taking paris i brokered peace with the french, i looted it so i had buckets of money so i just dropped taxes to nothing for a couple of turns and it was enough to tip me to 100%
no worries

Lower taxes and conquer as many territories as possible.
