Weather
I have moved this section to M2TW Archery Guide and Stats.
The Stats section (below) shows which units are affected by rain.

Thanks mate. The Rain, Accuracy and Range stats are generated by a program I wrote to read from the M2TW TXT files. It will work for M2TW/Kingdoms and any submod if anyone's interested.
Attack added in post #4 above.
That is an excellent site, which I frequent frequently. I'm sure that Honga could make it do what I'm doing here, if he had the time and inclination. I'm also sure that we're going about it in two very different ways; "uniting efforts" would amount to "massive effort" I think.
Mine are using the RC/RR submod values. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the 1.4.1 vanilla ones (without a reinstall). There's also the possibility that my program is doing something wrong, but the ones I checked seemed right (compared to in-game) so I think it's okay.
If you're looking at Elves then small wonder: RC/RR has nerfed them a bit.
I was going to hold off running these for 1.4.1 vanilla seeing as how a new release is just around the corner. But if you want to see them then PM me; no problem.
Added "The Works" to post #4 above

Extremely well researched and reliable experiments! Well done!
Awesome stuff! Just a note, that the RR/RC values for the Fellowship units have not yet been calculated. Also, in next update, most Elven units receive a +0.0075 accuracy bonus due to exceptional eyesight, and possibly a +10m range addition as well.
Also, any unit with the 'mass' designation in its projectile type is a 'missile' unit and will by default be behind the main battle line on setup, and has a different animation that shoots about 50% faster (but less accurately you will notice) than other (skirmish) units, that are in front of the main melee line and shoot more accurately though also more slowly.
Thanks for the info Point Blank.
Do you mean in accuracy? I see that Legolas bodyguard = Sindar archers and Hobbit bodyguard = Hobbit archers in accuracy. Not sure about Aragorn though.
Sweet.Looking forward to seeing that new animation too.

Incredible detail! Does snow have the same effect as rain?
Hmmm. I haven't tried it. Rain-affected is driven by the TXT file attribute affected_by_rain; there's no affected_by_snow equivalent (not for projectiles anyway). Does the engine class snowing as raining? I don't know.
EDIT: added Snow & Fog to post #2. Snow appears to affect arrows but I'm not certain.

Does night affect shooting as well? As an aside, if you select a night battle and don't start the battle immediately (choose wait.. 3...2..1 etc) it seems to change to daytime. Is it still counted as a night battle then? Some battles seem to occur at sunrise or sunset - I wonder if there's a "sun in your eyes" effect?
