Thread: is it possible to create a mod that gives you the option to mediate conflicts?

I would like to be able to mediate a piece treaty between one of my protectorates and another country. Lets say im playing as Russia and I liberated Romania. And now Romania and Austria are at war cuz one of them declared war on the other. IS there any way to make a mod that would allow me to ask Romania to agree to a piece treaty with Austria if i can convince Austria of the same thing? Kind of like a reverse join war function.
    Edit-----
This isn't related to the main question but does the AI have the same campaign goals as the player? Cuz if im playing Prussia or Austria it would mean that there is no possible way to avoid a war with Russia unless i give them the land that i control so that Russia's objective is complete.

Well, it really doesn't make sense in a two party diplomacy screen to have the option to force a treaty. You would need a multi-party diplomacy system for that to work (would definately revolutionize the series if CA added something like that).

Now what really bothers me is when two of your procterates are at war with each other. They should automatically make peace. Same thing if your ally is at war with a country, and you make that country your procterate, your ally should than automatically declare a ceasefire with your new procterate.

The REALLY sad thing is that both RTW and M2TW both had that feature. It makes me angry how many features from previous games they left out (family trees, ability to choose your faction heir, etc).

In answer to your edit, yes the only way to avoid war is to give them the territories they need, but even then its not guaranteed, especially if there is no direct link between their capitol and their territory (ie via their own lands)
My CAI mod for use with drop-in battles

Almost certainly no - and if it were why should we have to clear up CA's mess when this would have been trivial for them to code?

One solution is the conquer all the Austrians or whoever's territories except the capital and then take that and make them into a new protectorate which will start off at peace with everyone - but that doesn't remove their propensity to declare war on your other allies and protectorates.

Ultimately its more realistic for France to conquer and occupy everything and never form protectorates - after all (barring Spain) Bavaria, the Italians etc were not true allies to France but rather satellite states whose armies were fully integrated within France's - and there is a mod in development that will reflect that through zones of recruitment meaning that France will only be able to recruit Bavarian units in Bavaria, Westphalians in Westphalia etc - and will ultimately produce the truly multinational Grande Armee of 1809-13.

I'm guessing it's due to the short time scale the game is set in

Well the family trees and faction heir thing was more pointed towards ETW. I was referring to how the ETW/NTW game engine was lacking many features, not just NTW.

Sry, but I think it's impossible for the NTW engine. This should have been made by CA...
