"Video games are a waste of time for men with nothing else to do"
why stay in a fictional world when there is a real one right out the door?
this article was from three years ago.

dont really care. RTW 1 is good enough for me. i wouldnt consider buying 2 until i have heard some positive reviews on the MP from my clanmates and download an "expanded demo" from TPB to see if they haven't screwed it like ETW and its overpriced expansion.
one thing's for certain, there'd better being cataphracts...
Didn't you guys see the post in the "Front Page News" forum? They're announcing a new game at E3 this year. And the teaser pic is a Corinthian helmet. I think we're either going to get Rome 2 or Greece Total War (or something like that). The first being the more likely of the two.
Hmm... Now, will it be like Medieval 2 were the game takes place some years further or will it be more behind. I'd like to play as infant Rome and cradle it against the Samnites, Etruscans etc for control of Italy. I just also hope they change the Eastern units from pajama wearing archers to... anything else!![]()
Mm. I still dream of the day that CA stops lusting after graphics and returns to their roots... but by the looks of things, that ain't happening anytime soon.
Still intrigued, though.
Where is this Corinthian Helmet ... I must see.
Evan
There better be less archery and weaker cavalry charges this time (considering that the stirrup wasn't invented at this time, the medieval power of the RTW charges are ridicoulus)
When is E3 btw?
Well if they did Napoleon last time, perhaps we're getting "Alexander: Total War" (again, but this time properly). Though that wouldn't really be a good platform to showcase sea battles.
"Lay these words to heart, Lucilius, that you may scorn the pleasure which comes from the applause of the majority. Many men praise you; but have you any reason for being pleased with yourself, if you are a person whom the many can understand?" - Lucius Annaeus Seneca -
I would say if they did one about greece it should start with Achamenid persia's campaign against athens in 490 BC.
If it's rome total war I would start it In the Year of the 4 emperors.
what? by then the empire had already expanded into a huge power.

i think its like medieval.they were working on it for many years.if they had anounced 3 years ago that they were working on rome 2 then its pretty obvious that they are finishing the project and they are ready to make the official announcement
I think that it's a shame that fellow's theory about there being a combinable Rome 2 and an Ancient China game in the pipeline, being a hoax. It would have been cool having campaigns on a map that spanned from Britannia to Japan.
Through your intercession I hope to see the light of Thy son and the light of everlasting ages !
