Best configuration for spqr
Hello!
I am currently in the process of buying a new computer. And since money is a bit short, as always, I am looking to buy amd ii phenom x4 proc with 5850 radeon card.
Would that be sufficient enuf to play spqr with 15k soldiers on the map fluently (the only thing so far that prevened me from playing spqr because having huge armies with unlimited soldiers off had a "cutting spqr down effect" for me) or should I expect still slowdowns due to "oldness" of the game? Do you have any tips?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Best configuration for spqr
One thing to consider is that RTW doesn't utilize all cores if you have a multicore processor. So if you have a 2ghz dualcore for example, it would be like playing on a 1ghz regular processor.

Scratch that, sources say that Radeon 6000 will hit in about a year from now lol.
I have an aging 8800gt, which can't really keep up with the massive battles of SPQR. I would wait until then, since AMD is also going to release new architecture like their "Bulldozer" processor, not to mention the 6000s will probably be 28nm.
