I would like to protest .

I just install Napoleon: TW and I saw there is 3 new options of language: Russian, Polish and Czech.

Why doesn't CA translate this awsome game to Portuguese too??

I think the Portuguese and Brazilian comunity that play this series are bigger than Czech. So I leave my question above and my sadness .

PS.: I'm a huge fan of Total War series since Rome:TW and I get all games.

Thanks Ex Tenebris Lux but I believe Spaniards are a polite people and he didn't want to be rude.

I do know there is much more people that speaks in Spanish than in Portuguese. I'm not asking to CA removes any of language options that already exist in Napoleon:TW or Empire:TW or whatever games of the serie... I just wanna a game of the TW series translated into Portuguese.

Btw, here in Brazil, my continental country, together with Portugal and others countries that speaks Portuguese must have enough players for CA starts thinking in translate the game, I guess .

Yeah.. Portuguese would be great, but that could come with the expansion Peninsular War, and so we would have Portugal as a major faction and the game translated to Portuguese!!!

Why the hell do you want such a perfect game in Portuguese? You can speak Englisch so you understand the game. If its in Portuguesse you loose Napoleons perfect voice and the person speaking in the cutscenes.
I am Dutch and I am so glad there isn't a Napoleon talking Dutch

I think is better translate only the text in portuguese but not voices (except voices from portuguese units).

Ohh man, that's really awful. The voices from Portuguese units are in Portuguese from Portugal indeed.

I said: Portuguese from Portugal because I speak Portuguese from Brazil that there is some diferences but is almost the same language.

So a translated version of a translation and retranslation at least what you like, ehm....?

So a portuguise version will maybe awesome or maybe crap, I don't know.

However, the choosen languages are of course a little bit funny in term this language is but another important is not and so on. That not all languages are possible is clear, but a better choice in some cases is obviously and this should no insulting to any country now.

Maybe because there are more Czech players than Portuguese ones? In Poland, i.eg the majority of games is being translated from late 1990s. We have full translations or partial (only text). Some games have good translations (or even epic ones like Baldur's Gate) some have pathetic ones (like SW Empire at War and Forces of Corruption).

Why do people always want games in their own language? Having a game in Danish would suck so much that it is almost undescribeable. Still think it would be nice that a faction, like Denmark, spoke ingame in their own language (or f off with the ____ language called Swedish and replaced it with English), but the overall language of the game should stay in English.

When I watch a movie like The Inglorious Basterd and Hero I really like the fact that they speak in Chinese, German and French, and you can still follow the plot thanks to the subtitles. Makes the movie seem a lot more authentic.

about this topic, i am only agree in terms of translating the interface and the ui, it's not fair that Spain has more than half of their own games translated in terms of text and many in terms of voice...
about voice i really dont care, be it Napoleon or not, and yes, portuguese and brazilian players of ntw, immigrants or not, are more than the sum of czech players
..and yes, Czechs demand or make Contracts to czech translation cos...if today u go PRAGUE (where i been doing premed), only half of the people speak english and badly,,, (in isolated countries where state gives u everything, u dont care about the outside, even english speaking)

but well.. i will pretend i said nothing, we dont have such military, economic and intellectual develpment to be here debating or even demanding something,,
what pnbjunior tried to say is that it starts to be time that companies of gaming development could remember that we exist... why da hell we always need to be the people who needs to learn more and the big ones dont?

yes i studied in czech republic till last week.. and i know what is to hear from an english or an asian that "i cant speak portuguese to my coleague" BUT when my Portuguese coleague speaks german TO the germans, NOBODY complains. WHY? once again, power, influence of superpowers

this is just an opinion from a sub-development country player.. about a game and life with globalization

i DONT want to impose an idea here, i just used the example of the game as Metaphor of a personal experience

happy gaming, thanks for the topic!

Translation depends on home distributor. Total War series have been translated in Czech ever since Rome... It's Portuguese and Brazilian problem then. It does't have anything to do with CA or Sega. If you want a translation, you should convince some of your distributor to give away money and translate the game.
    Cheers.

I had similar experience in Paris. It's fine as long as you stick to the major tourism areas but just 2 streets away you can have problems just asking for directions
