It's probably the sprites being used thats the problem, you can generate new ones to replace the old ones.
Theres is a tutorial here.
Edit: Or you could just edit the modelsdb and use a different already existing sprite set for them.

I had something like this once, what i did was change the models.db file to disable sprites alltogether, though that is somewhat extreme, and can put your computer through hoops.
There was a thread by King Crab about this very subject, however i lost the link to it. If you dig deep enough using the forums search function for "sprite" threads, you might find it.
Doesnt really help much, but i tried, hope you fix your issue !
