Being a woman, living in Saudi, I am very happy about the actions of the girl in this article and I thank you for writing about it and bringing attention to some of the idiosyncrasies in the Saudi society.

HOWEVER, I feel that you should also do your homework before writing an article and get your facts right.
It is NOT true that we cannot divorce, inherit, or gain custody of our children, and we all go out without chaperones FREQUENTLY.

Please, next time be more considerate of what you write.

Its probably the traditional Saudi Family punishment first used by their forefathers back in the late 19th century. Namely, raping and robbing poor people travelling between cities. Cos thats how the House of Saud rose.

If the woman is charged with assaulting the officer, she could face a lengthy prison term, or a lashing, or both.

That's what the article says but she's probably be punished more than that being a woman and all. So perhaps she will be executed but I don't know much about Muslim culture to be honest.
