diplomacy question

hi, in vanilla etw, playing as france, UP and Spain went to war, with spain being my ally. why am i not in war with UP then too, i didnt get any notification? i might be wrong but i remember getting notifications if i want to join my allies wars before?

They have to call you to help for you to get a notification, I believe.

If they think they can take the enemy on their own they won't call for your help. In higher difficulties they almost always call you.

Dutch Guyana is actually a very rich area, even from the start. And Ceylon is good too, you can send easily ships to Madagascar and East Indies trade theaters from there. Plus you can train/stage your armies when the time comes to invade india.

I know about Ceylon, just unsure about Dutch Guyana.

Dutch Guyana as i can remember, is the richest region in the Americas, i think i managed to get 7 or 8 thousand from that region in the late era.

Maybe spain didn't want you to take their Indian and American colonies (one in india, other one - in America). Though I don't see any value of American colony. :p

Plus I think that Spain (correct me if I'm wrong) can take out UP on it's own without much fuss, expand a bit in America and start off in India with some gem mines.
