Default The next Total War: Shogun or Rome?

    http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/54...Unveiled-At-E3

The Creative Assembly sprung a significant pre-E3 leak today. From one source, EuroGamer was told of the studio's plans to create a 2012 Olympics title, and then, hours later, we received an email revealing that a new Total War title is to be announced at E3.
Though in possession of full details, our lives wouldn't be worth living if we divulged what we know, but let's just say that the new PC-only game eschews the gunpowder weaponry of recent Total War titles and gets back to basics. And if you need further reassurance of this information's veracity, check out this well-timed tweet from the developers.
I'll be so happy if they will make a Shogun Total War II maybe adding also China and Korea in the map.

Shogun or Rome would be cool. I'd prefer Shogun as Rome is still pretty decent right now, especially with mods.

Wouldn't be adverse to a new era entirely.

I haven't played Shogun, and I loved Rome, but I'd like to see a new Shogun for this reason. There are obviously thousands of things to improve on in Rome, but I'd like to experience an up-to-date version of Shogun. I can still play Rome without any major complaints besides the diplomacy system.

Without gunpowder there won´t be a SHOGUN. In case you don´t know it the weapons were quite similar to Medieval - means starting with spears, bows, swords, naginatas and advance to arquebuses and muskets.

The only TW-game eschewing guns so far was ROME.

Rome 2, more map, more nations, more units, more anything than in Shogun, even expanding the campaing map to china and korea, dont think that era has as much fans as rome does, and never forget that CA will allways look after their sales and profits.

Yeah lots of chinese, thats obvious, but think on this, how many chinese ppl have a computer that can handle actual games? Im sure that if CA create a new engine for it, the game will be a huge hardware consumer, it not, try to play rise of flight for example in a core2 with all in ultra..no way. I dont know how japanese are big fans of strategy games but i dont think so. Ca and sega will allways look after the american and european market more than the chinese or japanese one, no cus they are more ppl in the region but yes more ppl able to buy their game. 60 euros for a game in china?? dont think much ppl will buy it. All this i dont mind a Asia Total war, may be cool, but i dont think so.

No, but for real, there is hardly any potential sales in china if any.

Their riddle says it wont "show guns" so i assume its not Shogun and it wont show guns. The riddle also hints that it wont be Rome TW. It might be china total war. There is something about "maybe the eastern sun rises."

Why wouldn't Shogun show guns though. Gunpowder became quite important in the Sengoku period.

I hope the mods can do something about this undercurrent of racism that seems to run through all these speculation threads. I've seen several posts like this today, some elsewhere directly attacking Chinese culture/history, seemingly folks are angered at the prospect that CA's next product might not be Eurocentric.I can think of few other countries ppl can so casually take the piss out of of without getting in serious trouble.

I do hope it is Rome 2 otherwise China-bashing is only gonna get worse around here.

The person with anime slathered all over him wants a game about Japan? Really!? I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet if I were you. "Official" statements seem to have been leaked about Rome II and Shogun II, so there's really no way of knowing until E3.

Baffling, isn't it? I bet they hide them under the abject squalor.

Wait hold on, the Shogun era featured gunpowder, the twitter hints at the fact that gunpowder would not be featured, that seems to contradict that.

I was kinda hoping for rome, and a new engine (since it sounds like this game still uses the Napoleon engine, which is a total disappointment for me as I'm not that big a fan of it.).
