    Default Wood Elves

    I was looking at the FRoME sub and realized that dividing them would be a great idea for the official mod.

    Give the Mirkwood ones to destroy OOtMM and Mordor and the Galadrihim Isenguard and Mordor and of course unique units.

    And make the two factions allies from the start.

    So any of the team have thoughts on this?

    I disagree. There isn't much room for expansion.

    If you split up 2 factions in a small section, you are limiting strategic expansion choices.

    Wisely spoken, I would like the two factions seperated, but the map doesn't properlly allow for this.

    This has been asked before, since patch 1.0
    Anyways yes it would be a nice ideia, but to be honest the oponents to both factions are pretty much the same (OMM and Mordor), the diference is that the Galadhrim also have isengard to worry about, while the SE have Rhun to worry about, that and they have diferent allies apart from eachother (one being rohan and the other Dale)
    But its since this wont be applied to the official game that the FRoME mod exists (and VoA mod also because of the Vale of Anduin faction)

    I've been playing FRoME, and I liked playing as the Lorien Elves, but it would kinda set back the Idea of another evil faction in the north. Since the last poll by King Kong indicated that another evil faction is likely on its way to strengthen OotMM, to split up and create two different elven factions out of the Silvan elves would infact counter the provision of the possibly comming (Shadow of Agmar) for the forces of evil. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...353877&page=33 There's the poll, if you haven't seen it.

    this new faction in the north wont so much be a direct enemy of any of the silvan elves factions, the split will directly influence whoever the 2 OMM factions attack, being the one in the south going to focus on the SE and the one in the north going to focus on the HE and Eriador, and ofc both will have the dwarfs to deal with

    You should not force people, do have it sperate as some like the single faction. FROME does this just fine for the people who actually want it

    FROME split up some of the good faction. I dont think its wise to split up all the good factions. Dont see the point in Lorien and Mirkwood going to war because of some border problems. The good factions already get pwnd most of the time on vh fast enough.

    This might be, because the AI can't handle split factions.
    Also, these split factions will have a higher income, due to King's Purse, resulting in more units, resulting in a better change to survive.

    WRONG

    it is the Huge factions that Ai
    cant handle not minor ones.....actually!

    Split and small factions are more suitable for the AI to manage...
    and this is not my impression its just how things are M2TW engine!

    Split = controls two seperate areas

    So I'm not wrong unless I completly misunderstand you.

    I know the AI can handle small factions better.

    basicaly we are saying the same thing....

    if u mean that such a splited faction is --lets say-- Dwarves in vanilla TATW then we definitelly say the same

    i was refering to splited and divided into 2 new ones!

    i think it would be nice if a seperation of the Silvan faction could be implemented in Vanilla, but that really just equals to more work for KK and the team, so i think it should remain as a sub mod, at least until we can get our hands on 1.5

    Yeah, the Dwarves are a more-than-excellent example of this.

    Irishblood, as it exists already in a submod, it's a matter of copy-pasting to be implemented into the vanilla.

    But this discussion is elder than m account on TWC, and the Silvan Elves diversification was rejected.

    on one hand I feel that FROME should remain a submod, as I said before
    on the other hand, I don't like that two nations that have few things in common are united in one faction
