My specs.

I am upgrading from a AMD Athlon Dual to a AMD Athlon Quad Processor.

Will I need to upgrade my PSU from a 480 watt?

Also how much of an increase in performance will I see?

My speedtest.net reports that my DL speed should be 1.70 MB but I only get 200 kb out of every download I get.

Why is this?

no, 480 watts should do it.

Minimal to none, you didnt say what processor you have or are aiming for, it could make alot of difference in some games, but mostly what i said first.

megabits/megabytes, my con is about 5-7 meg on speed tests, does 500-700k downloading stuff... they use megabits when talking about con speeds cuz 5 megabit sounds better then 0.5 megabytes

Why is this?

480W should be able to do it, usually its if you add more components that takes up more power.

If you search on line for wattage calculator, or wattage calculator computer, it should be able to tell you how many watts you need.

In regards to 200kbs, it is possible that the servers connection isn't fast enough or it's too busy to be able to give you the full 1.7MB.

What happens when you download games of Steam? or ISP servers? most likely it will be higher.
