Encountered an unspecified error

Dont know if its the right thing to do, to post this here but, still..

Everytime when the grand campaign finally gets going smoothly, the most frustrating thing happens!

Im talking about the popup with only a "ok" button saying:

/ ! \ Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now
/ ! \ exit.

[ ok ]

Each time when I press the 'turn' button, sometimes immediatly and other times when its at the 4th/5th nation.
Stuck, having 3 wonderfull savegames with maybe houndreds of hours happy efforts in it and no chance of continuing with them?!

The logs I have (standard ones) are not much of a help, so my question is, is there anyone 'here' who does know how to debug this error and solve it?

Cause it seems to me a bc mod caused one like the quick batlle.

I will ask you two question:
1- Is your game installed from original licensed m2tw cd (or dvd)?
2- Did you try updated campaign_script .txt file?

I tried your updated script and it fixed the problem, but after 1or2 turns it happend again

The logs only say system.rpt encountered a problem blabla.

I think, moderators need some (more) logs and screenshots to solve your problem.

Add these lines to your bc.cfg file:

Take some screenshots and post them with logs

Your problem is very common one.

If it corrupts savegames - most likely those are some scripted siege events that cause it, and replaying few previous turns without saving game can solve it.
However, there's one more error - totally unspecified, it leaves no track, just corrupts save-games and disallows to play further. We have no idea what causes it. It may be everything, even interaction with still somehow bugged M2TW.

Though posting your system.log entry could be helpful.
