Excel help

i hope this is in the right place. If not then please let me know where you move it to

okay i'm trying to create something in excel and i'm finding it really irritating. What i want is for the cell to display Monday 17^th May. I can obviously get this no problem. But the problem comes because i want to create it downwards, so i can click on the little box in the corner of the cell and drag it so i get
Monday 17^th May
Tueday 18^th May
Wednesday 19^th May
etc

even better would be if you could tell me how to do it so it only says the first three letters of the day
Mon 17^th May
Tue 18^th May
Wed 19^th May

any help would be really appreaciated, since this is really bugging me. thanks!

hmm.. thats kinda what i want, but i want it more so that its in the same cell.

never mind, i've been playing with open offices calc, it can do what i want without all this fussing around
