I really need help.

Could someone help me? I have a problem with the game.

Whenever I go onto my campaign map it goes all weird. I don't see it but see werid grey lines moving across the screen every once and a while when I try to move around the map ( bare in mind i cannot even see the map but see the mini map and the keys ( treasury and year )

the same applies to battles, whenever i move aorund i see weird things and bright colours come out of the black screen.

It was not always like this, and it has only happened to Napoleon total war, my other games like L4D2 are fine. NTW played brilliantly for me before this happened. It just happened randomly as well. Any advice? Is it the graphics card?

I also tried reinstalling the game. No luck.

Have you done anything that could ahve damaged the card recentley, or installed new drivers?

I don't think so, I will try downloading a new driver then.

you didn't tick the "make my game all grey liney and bright colory" button in settings ->graphic options did you?

its probably the drivers then

Man that sucks, You must try to update your drivers as it seems a graphics problem, it could even be an overheating issue, An if all else fails try a clean reinstallation, an I mean a clean reinstallation, i.e delete everything you can find surrounding NTW, look in your registry an delete it all.

Hope you get it sorted soon, it sucks doesn't it.

Probably a driver thing if your other games work fine.

Try downloading the latest driver for your card.

No, no, no.

If your other games are working it isn't your drivers. Besides, TW games have never liked the latest drivers, so hold off on those.

If you've been using mods, delete your scripts folder, the folder that contains your user.script file and the preferences file. Yes, delete it. Then try running the game again. This forces the game to reset its graphics options.

Also, remove all mods you maybe using, best to remove the mods before you delete the script file.

And heyh, if my solution works, which it probably will, join my social group. Just click the chick in the sig. We'd love to have Eire.

Alright i have deleted everything napoleon related in the common thing in programme files in steammaps. Nappy is installing again after i click to install it again on steam, should i reinstall it completely even before the steam process, i have this funny feeling deleting those things in programme files did nothing at all to help me but we will ahve to wait and see. What do you guys think?

okay so it hasn't hit my left for dead 2 game but it turns out it has also affected my far cry 2 game!

Aside that post your dxdiag

download speedfan and rivatuner, for the green, and msi afterburner for the red, or hwmonitor (you have to pay for it, but it looks everything, more important for laptop users)

ok lets re run this

post your dxdiag, here is a how to:

press windows key + r

type dxdiag

press enter

there will be in your left lower corner a button that says something about saving, click there.

speedfan and rivatuner (for nvidia cards) or msi afterburner (for ati cards) are temp measurement software, post the results here after you played a little and then the pc being idle for 5 min.

the part of your old here, is that you should have known that this was a techy thing and so to post in the tech forums, nothing else, and don't take that as offensive, its that mods are always having to move things to there.

any questions just ask

Alright guys, update.

I have had the graphics card checked, nothing wrong with it. I have installed a new driver, I have had it checked by some dude who knows what he is talking about, he is perplexed. I also heard some new patch came out for NTW for graphical problems, that did not help.

ANY IDEA?? I am desperate at this stage, I haven't played NTW in months. My grapics card is perfectly fine and can play anything, it isn't a problem.

The speedfan is for measuring your temps.

rivatuner for Nvidia cards to measuring your temps.

msi afterburner for ATI cards to measuring your temps.
