Help request/poll regarding shadows performance

While screwing around with ss 6.3 beta, ( SOON TM )
and not playing m2tw for ages honestly, and in all that time reinstalling my os, without reinstalling m2tw, everything was looking fine, till second i started up ss 6,3 beta and realised i got 10 fps.. imagine my surprise
Any way, to make long story short, in the end i found out that going from extreme to high shadows i gain between 40 to 100 fps .. which yah.. cant be freakin real

and my bc2 was working fine with extreme shadows till i started messing around..

now why and what i wanna ask of you , my os was reinstall,ed my m2tw well , i did reinstall it on top, but m2tw doesnt just replace files, it checks and leaves them be if they exist.. so apart fixing missing registry files and making launcher work , it didnt do much ( well it made kingdoms campaign start.. didnt for some reason before )
For all i know some files are messed up, and didnt got replaced,
Why i dont wana do full clean reinstall? takes ages... and mostly mods.. while most wont care, another bunch will, reinstalling.. downloading, repatching.. for all i know its my mind playing tricks, making me thing i was playing with extreme shadows before , and i get no improvement for hours of work and downloading stuff..


So if you could , could you post what fps increase you gain when changing shadows from extreme to high, and vise versa, i would be happy if you guys were using max settings such as 8x aa 16 af, and everything on max, cuz all of those effect shadows quality and performance,

and if you could post your hardware, cpu and gpu would be enough tbh, i mean if you guys running latest high end, i will know it just might be my end, but if you guys run decent rig, and you got no performance problems, i will know its my end, would it be broken drivers ( wouldnt be first time nvidia breaks something in old games,) or its my game files.

you can measure fps using fraps or evga precision ( there are loads of other too im sure )

e8400 @ 3.8ghz , 4gb ram @ 825 or something like that 1:1 with cpu , 2x 9600gt oced in sli,

its 2 years old rig by now, so yeh nothing special, still does the job tho
