    Default 3DsMax modeling Problem

I've been trying my hand at making a model for unit for the last few days. It went fairly well until I decided to give my first creation a test run. I end up with this.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing to end up with this? I tried fixing it myself but no dice

Looks like you haven't UV mapped it. See here.

the vertex weighting doesnt look quite right either, is that the head attached to the shield?

I did UV mapped it. I even redid it to see if it'll fix it.

@Halie - Okay, thanks for your time

@Hannibal - Yeah along with the arms twisted like pretzels. I could've sworn I did vertice part right but give it one more once over before I'll scrapped it.

I'd weight everything to the torso bone and try it in game it will look really odd but will tell you if you've done the UV mapping correctly. Sort out one problem at a time, once the UV mapping is correct sort out the vertex weighting. Personally I'd stick with the model, especially if your just starting out, you'll learn more from sorting out your own mistakes than anyone else can teach you

Then my advice is to scrap this model and start again. Fixing it will probably take more time than starting over.

Smith is correct, the weighting is completely wrong.
