No doubt in the coming months we will see CA release a number of DLC's for Napoleon: Total War through Steam - so here is your chance to put your ideas for future releases forward! If you have a future DLC you would like released (e.g. new campaign, new unit pack, new features), this is the place to express your ideas!
NOTE: This is a constructive thread that looks at ideas for future DLC's - not a rant thread. Please refrain from making comments about the BAI or CAI or general swipes at CA/Steam/DLC's in general.
Some of mine:
Campaigns:
-Peninsula War Campaign: A campaign covering an extended map of the Iberian Peninsula and the Cape of Gibraltar. Factions will include the British, Portuguese, French (Army of Spain perhaps), the Bourbon Spanish, and the Spanish Resistance (e.g. peasantry, guerillas). Includes the historical battle of Salamanca. Possibly implementing a coup-like-feature (being able to overthrow a leader of a nation to be replaced with a leader that is more favorable or friendly to your own) could be implemented through spies to simulate the overthrow of the Spanish Bourbon Monarchy to be replaced by Napoleon's brother.
-British Campaigns in India: A campaign covering a detailed map of India and Persia. Factions include the British Empire, the East India Trade Company, the Tippoo Sultan's Mysore, Maratha Confederacy as well as various other Indian and Muslim warlords in the region. Indian kingdoms allied to France should receive French gentleman adept in military research for their universities and ancillaries revolving around French advisers. The ability to form a coalition (attack given faction) or a defensive pact (attack faction that attacks one member) should be implemented. Historical battles of Assaye and the siege of Seringapatam should be included. Time Period: 1803-1805 (the Second Anglo-Maratha War) or 1803-1817 (end of the Third Anglo-Maratha War).
-The War of 1812: Perhaps adds America to the campaign map, or else a completely new campaign map covering the Americas and relevant theaters of war. Factions include Britain, the United States, Canadian-British territory as well as various native-American factions. Should include the historical battle of New-Orleans. Time Period: 1805-1815 or 1812-1815.
-The Opium Wars: Campaign covering China, Japan and South-East Asia. Factions include the Qing Dynasty, Britain, France, the United States and various other Asian factions. Time Period: 1839-1842 (First Opium War) or 1839-1860 (end of Second Opium War).
-The Crimean War: Campaign covering the Crimean Peninsula, the Balkans and the Caucasus. Factions include the British Empire, the French Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the Kingdom of Sardinia, the Duchy of Nassau and the Russian Empire. Technological features should be implemented, such as the railway (way of transporting troops - perhaps armies gain a huge movement point increase when on railways or requires them to garrison troops inside a train similar to a ship) and the telegraph (increase reconnaissance abilities). Would include the historical battles of Balaclava and the siege of Sevastopol. Time Period: 1853-1856
-The American Civil War: Campaign covering North America and Canada following the years of the American Civil War. Would include the historical battles of Getteysburg , Bull Run and Shiloh.
-Franco-Prussian War: Campaign following the Franco-Prussian War and the rise of the united Germany.
-Independence Campaigns in South America/the Campaigns of Simon Bolivar: A campaign following the independence campaigns of Gran Colombia, the Republic of Chile, the Mexican Empire and the Republic of Peru against Spain.
-The Zulu Wars/Scramble for Africa: A campaign that follows the Zulu Wars in Africa/European wars in Africa.
Unit Packs:
-I would personally like to see the pre-order units available in a DLC (especially the Scots Grey).
-Perhaps if a Peninsula DLC is not released, then a units of the Iberian Peninsula pack.
Sorry about the brief description of some - I had to leave the computer in a hurry. I will return to add detail to the OP.
Cheers,
RR
