Default Future DLC's for Napoleon: Total War

No doubt in the coming months we will see CA release a number of DLC's for Napoleon: Total War through Steam - so here is your chance to put your ideas for future releases forward! If you have a future DLC you would like released (e.g. new campaign, new unit pack, new features), this is the place to express your ideas!

NOTE: This is a constructive thread that looks at ideas for future DLC's - not a rant thread. Please refrain from making comments about the BAI or CAI or general swipes at CA/Steam/DLC's in general.

    Some of mine:

    Campaigns:

-Peninsula War Campaign: A campaign covering an extended map of the Iberian Peninsula and the Cape of Gibraltar. Factions will include the British, Portuguese, French (Army of Spain perhaps), the Bourbon Spanish, and the Spanish Resistance (e.g. peasantry, guerillas). Includes the historical battle of Salamanca. Possibly implementing a coup-like-feature (being able to overthrow a leader of a nation to be replaced with a leader that is more favorable or friendly to your own) could be implemented through spies to simulate the overthrow of the Spanish Bourbon Monarchy to be replaced by Napoleon's brother.

-British Campaigns in India: A campaign covering a detailed map of India and Persia. Factions include the British Empire, the East India Trade Company, the Tippoo Sultan's Mysore, Maratha Confederacy as well as various other Indian and Muslim warlords in the region. Indian kingdoms allied to France should receive French gentleman adept in military research for their universities and ancillaries revolving around French advisers. The ability to form a coalition (attack given faction) or a defensive pact (attack faction that attacks one member) should be implemented. Historical battles of Assaye and the siege of Seringapatam should be included. Time Period: 1803-1805 (the Second Anglo-Maratha War) or 1803-1817 (end of the Third Anglo-Maratha War).

-The War of 1812: Perhaps adds America to the campaign map, or else a completely new campaign map covering the Americas and relevant theaters of war. Factions include Britain, the United States, Canadian-British territory as well as various native-American factions. Should include the historical battle of New-Orleans. Time Period: 1805-1815 or 1812-1815.

-The Opium Wars: Campaign covering China, Japan and South-East Asia. Factions include the Qing Dynasty, Britain, France, the United States and various other Asian factions. Time Period: 1839-1842 (First Opium War) or 1839-1860 (end of Second Opium War).

-The Crimean War: Campaign covering the Crimean Peninsula, the Balkans and the Caucasus. Factions include the British Empire, the French Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the Kingdom of Sardinia, the Duchy of Nassau and the Russian Empire. Technological features should be implemented, such as the railway (way of transporting troops - perhaps armies gain a huge movement point increase when on railways or requires them to garrison troops inside a train similar to a ship) and the telegraph (increase reconnaissance abilities). Would include the historical battles of Balaclava and the siege of Sevastopol. Time Period: 1853-1856

-The American Civil War: Campaign covering North America and Canada following the years of the American Civil War. Would include the historical battles of Getteysburg , Bull Run and Shiloh.

-Franco-Prussian War: Campaign following the Franco-Prussian War and the rise of the united Germany.

-Independence Campaigns in South America/the Campaigns of Simon Bolivar: A campaign following the independence campaigns of Gran Colombia, the Republic of Chile, the Mexican Empire and the Republic of Peru against Spain.

-The Zulu Wars/Scramble for Africa: A campaign that follows the Zulu Wars in Africa/European wars in Africa.

    Unit Packs:

-I would personally like to see the pre-order units available in a DLC (especially the Scots Grey).

-Perhaps if a Peninsula DLC is not released, then a units of the Iberian Peninsula pack.

Sorry about the brief description of some - I had to leave the computer in a hurry. I will return to add detail to the OP.

    Cheers,
    RR

Given that the game is called Napoleon: Total War i highly doubt they will make out of era DLC packs.

But hope dies last and i hope they'll make a 7 years war DLC, because i think some of the game mechanics (2 week turns, seasons etc.) would make 7 years war more enjoyable with Napoleon than with Empire.

I'd rather see most of the campaigns you posted in a new Total war game, encompassing the entire 19th century.

I would love to see the Crimean war. Its a war that I know next to nothing about, and what i've always loved about the Total War series is that while its not perfectly accurate, its enough to give me an overview of what happened, and makes me want to learn more.

I'd also like to see the Cam pains of Simone Bolivar, for much the same reasons.

In fact, I think i'd like to see most of the suggestions you've given here with the exception of the African Expansion. I think it would feel a bit too much like Empire where you just fight hoards of melee units in america.

Another suggestion would be Napoleons Russian campaign.
It would be somewhat difficult to do though, since napoleon did end up losing in the end.
It would be nice to see a "what if" sort of campaign, you know?

i think there will only come one extra campaign through dlc which will be the peninsular campaign.

red rider, you named a lot of possible campaigns, but i think they dont fit the time frame. its NAPOLEON total war, so i doubt that there will be campaigns not focusing on the french or even not on the era.
i have the bad feeling that the peninsula campaign will only be playable as france

id like to see a guard infantry unit for austria together with some heavy cavalry, as far as i know the Kaiser reg no 1 would be a regiment of cuirassiers.

I doubt they will implement whole new facs in any detail (and new units) wich cuts out american civil wars (gaah, so bored of these requests), opium wars, zulu wars and 1818 wars.

Although I feel a strong desire to rant, if there was any DLC or expansion sold by CA that I would consider money well spent then it would be a vast expansion of the campaign map if anything. I continue to play ETW, mostly on the grounds that it includes the Americas, North Africa and Asia - India!

Another thing of note - if any unit packs where to be created, I would want the Inniskilling Dragoons and more British/Irish units - after all, they only roughly took up a miniscule third of all British armed forces....

And add bagpipers in place of British fifes! =P

Exactly there are loads of Units and even mods packed with English regiments and the Famous Inniskillings are forgotten about.

At Waterloo where so many regiments performed prodigies of valour and endurance, None exceeded and few equalled the deeds of the inniskillings. Ordered to hold an important crossroads, they were decimated by heavy cannon fire which carved gaps in their squares, but the survivors stood firm repelling determined cavalry charges.
At the end of a terrible day most of the companies were commanded by sergeants, and few could muster as many as twenty unwounded men. Close by the crossroads 450 of the 700 Inniskillings who had marched into battle lay dead in their squares where they had fallen. The Duke of Wellington was always sparing with his praise, but he said of the Inniskillings “They saved the centre of my line at Waterloo”.

I would like the minor factions to receive more units, so they will more likely be chosen for multiplayer games. I would also like the Pre-ordered units and the units in the Imperial Edition released as DLC's. The reason why I didn't buy the Imperial Edition is because It would of costed me an extra $40 NZD for 10 units. Obviously I don't care about the palpable goodies you get with the Imperial Edition.

Thats not a bad idea since there aren't many of them. Or at least make it alot cheaper than other DLC's.

To get your game as soon as possible.
I didn't pre-order mine but I bought it online and got the Towarczys (Re-skinned Prussian Lancer with inspire ability)

There should be an opportunity to get get all units. I really did want to buy the Imperial Edition so I could get the extra units but It was too expensive for what I wanted.

Didn't they release a DLC of units for Empire that you could only get originally from a certain purchase? They could do the same thing.

they will probably release all the extra, pre order, imperial and what so ever units for 2bucks in a few months, but not for free
