Where the hell are all the damn cheaters coming from?

I've been running into a hell of a lot of cheaters recently on Napoleon Total War Online. One guy I played against a couple of days ago used a hack where his infantry runs about ten times as fast as light cavalry and appears to be able to run across rivers and other impassable obstacles at unbelievable speeds!
He plays only "no artillery" games on maps with lots of buildings. His infantry sprints like Usain Bolt and takes control of every building on the map (even the ones on your side!) before you can move your army out of your spawn, and it's pretty much impossible to dislodge his infantry without any artillery!

A guy I played against tonight used an artillery hack where his artillery can rout or destroy an entire unit every time it fires! I'm such an idiot it took me until the second game with this knucklehead to figure out what the hell was going on! I thought it was a little odd that he destroyed one of my artillery batteries and routed the other with the first salvo of two of his howitzers. I thought to myself "this guy has got to be the luckiest guy on the planet to have landed his first two shells simultaneously right on the heads of my poor artillerymen"! I went ahead and finished the game anyway, even though every time his artillery hit a unit (which was pretty much every time) the unit was either destroyed or it routed! I'm so trusting I just figured the guy must have found some ingenius new way of positioning and firing his artillery to make it "Uber" effective! Finally by the second game when he destroyed all four of my artillery batteries and killed my entire general's bodyguard unit with the first salvo of his five artillery batteries, I started to figure out that something might just be amiss! By the time his howitzer barrage had loosed about fifteen or so more shells (three more salvos), my entire army was dead or routing off the map!
What the hell is it with these idiots anyway? What possible satisfaction can you get from beating someone with such blatant cheats enabled? I'm really starting to wonder about you people!

I played soemone last night who brought along all Elite troops must of spents 20,000, Spoils the game badly since you never know now if you are playing on a level playing field , Would not happen to much in the older games like MTW2,RTW ect since they had a proper lobby in MP so they would be shamed very quickly and everyone who played would know pretty quickly, but with the present lobby situation they can go about cheating at there leisure. BRING BACK THE LOBBYS PLEASE

Yeah whats up with that? The RTW lobby is a wonderful place, I remember having a four way conversation On Belle's feminism thesis, as well as on the respective merits of America VS Great Britain, I think Britain won the argument.

And the best named prussian general.....All maxed out all the way. And he camped. Agreed that we need a lobby tho for 1 and all.
We went thru this with ETW and got exactly nowhere with CA in our requests for a lobby.
Maybe someone can start a petition thread or something .

By the way mate, I believe I played you last night on a 2v2 on the Lodi map. I would like to apologize because I suffered a CTD with the game, I do hope I didn't terminate the match?

I played a 2v2 and he (johnny3tears) was my teammate. The clan members we played were complaining about hacking, I thought they meant me... after they both dropped I looked at his army and sure enough. His whole army was ranked max. Friggin' n00bz.

or the Ahille VS SR argument bout Katya. Ah the memories... i remember back in the day when jomen was still really active me n him would always taunt the noobclannies into rage mode and then own em. 10 points for every rage quit.

Well as i said before NTW is clearly inferior to RTW(hackuz, No lobby, DLC, Guns) and i wonder when you will come back to RTW to play with your clanmates. We miss you, Deerhunter. What point is there in this game?

Good point DeerHunter. That would help curtail the mass cheating considerably!

Maybe he is just running his men and you are camping at the spawn?

Maybe the game seems to have gone so fast because you are so used to using your " I'm going to camp for hours until he rage quits" strategy.

That's a good point Biggun69. I can't remember the last time I moved my army out of my spawn. Maybe I'm just not used to seeing troops actually move!



Actually Biggun69, they don't really run. It's more like they fly while suspended just inches off the ground! I guess that's how they can cross over rivers and other impassable terrain!

I have noticed a sudden increase in the noob population recently. On top of this, rising numbers of noobs have been breading with internet downloading sites, creating a hybrid form of the noob nameed `you ing cheat no bloody artillery you noob`, or `wtf, how did u do that?`, and also `why do you have ing elites upgraded noob cheat!`
I believe the noob species is out of control. This pesky little sub-species of the tippicle noob is a cheating, ignorant, sad and talentless group. They posses the ability to do only 3 things, cheat, annoy, and confound us true players. We must take action against these vermin and rid napoleon once and for all of these hybrid noobs, so aptly named by major hemoorhoi as `cheaters recetnly on Napoleon Total War Online`!

I think that cheatings too simple in this game, i have a fairly good idea how, not that i would.

Sorry Josst, I can't seem to figure out how to save replays! Those infantry units flying through the air at breakneck speeds was one of the weirdest cheats I've seen on Napoleon Total War Online so far though!



I just can't see what the "rush" is that these "cheaters" apparently get by blatantly "cheating" and winning games while displaying absolutely no skill at all!

Also Josst, it would be quite easy to alter the game's software code to enable units to become "super-human", but why on Earth would anyone want to?
I must confess I REALLY like those "one shot, one kill" howitzers though! I'm thinking that the "cheater" in question has figured out how to alter the game code so as to combine the destructive power of mortars (which are four times as powerful as howitzers!) with the accuracy and rate of fire of howitzers!

I played a guy today and after I'd beaten most of his army I still had like 6 units left and he had 2 artillery and 1 infantry. I was thinking finishing would be easy so I got my line inf in range when suddenly... his artillery start firing canister like machine guns. I was absolutely stunned so I took a closer look at them and saw that they werent even stopping to reload, just firing again and again. suffice to say my guys took off pretty quickly

I just dont get what kick people get out of cheating, I mean whats the fun in being a high rank if you dont deserve it?

I applaud your ability to forcefully convince yourself that NTW MP is good despite the obvious facts. However since all MP threads are joined together now i am not going anywhere. the sheer amount of cheating, DLCing, flaming, hacking and raging means i can sage away as much as i like.

Hacking/cheating is completely minuscule, consider how many people play Napoleon online, then how many have complained of the forums about it? Seems like your generalising the whole game on the opinions of a few.
Out of the 150 games I've played of Napoleon, I have yet to encounter a massive troll/flamer(although there was a few quite a few in Empire). I also don't understand your dlcing comment, yes dlc does give a slight choice advantage but each dlc unit can only be picked once and are mostly balanced very well in terms of cost/performance, although I tend to think the DLC units are give a slight stat advantage after price balance(though this is quite tiny).

I really had a close loss one day against a guy who was playing as Russian and I was playing as Ottoman. He brought 3 unicorns so I was thinking, "Oh, this is going to be pretty easy since he probably won't have that much money left to get good infantry." Well, I was struggling for a bit wondering how his infantry is holding up and it turns out he has his full elite infantry with a couple of upgrades, 4 light infantry, and around 6? line and 3 lancers. When I tried to replicate his exact setup later, I found out there wasn't enough funds to get his exact army. Even though it was a close game, after finding out that he was subtley cheating, I didn't feel so bad.

That's a common hack used by cheaters tenjouten (increasing the amount of available funds they have to purchase units). The more crafty cheaters don't use it too excessively (just enough to give them a distinct advantage over their opponents) to blatantly increase the quality of their armies, and therefore pretty much can get away with it most of the time without getting caught. I hate to think how many times I've played a guy like you just described, but I bet it's a pretty high percentage of the games I've played in. Still, I can't believe people actually think that they can get away with the blatant hacks and cheats that I described in the first post of this thread!
