“The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards.”
—Sir William Francis Butler
I love that the article does not seem to mention how they got to America, only hinting to some strange way of getting their through China.
I also like how it mentions that the writers went in to Afghanistan to do their research WHILE the Taliban were in power![]()
Sons of Queen Dido, Warriors of Libye (EB AAR)

A Carthagian AAR about the life of a Libyan Phoenician soldier in the army of Carthage, giving his own account and personal opinions of the battles and conquests Carthage undertakes.
I just know the epicness will blow your minds!!
There is also a theory that the Chinese sailed there in approx 1100 AD, but thats never been backed up too convincingly.
Though wouldn't the first people to discover America be in fact the native peoples of America? With theories pointing to the migration of people during the last Ice when Alaska and North Eastern Russia were connected.
Formerly Tiberias
Actually there a lot of theories : from Phoenicians, Romans up to Indians (from India) :

Formerly Tiberias
yeah that's what i was thinking of. that seemd more plausible than 1100.
but yes the Vikings were technically first that we have evidence of.
and for those people whoi think they are clever talking about native grouos crossing the land bridge: it's generally accepted that we are discussing things AFTER that "age of discovery" and all that...
EDIT: I don't feel like fixing my typos lol
I've been here the whole time.
Formerly Tiberias
Yeah, but they're uneducated savages, who just happen to be there, they do not count.Though wouldn't the first people to discover America be in fact the native peoples of America? Neutral to the teeth.
G.K. Chesterton“'My country, right or wrong' is a thing no patriot would ever think of saying except in a desperate case. It is like saying 'My mother, drunk or sober.'”
You're all wrong, the Egyptians were the first ;P
http://www.faculty.ucr.edu/~legneref/botany/mummy.htm
So now you know that the pyramids of south America and Egypt are actually connectedIn a one-page article appearing in Naturwissenschaften, German scientist Svetla Balabanova (1992) and two of her colleagues reported findings of cocaine, hashish and nicotine in Egyptian mummies. The findings were immediately identified as improbable on the grounds that two of the substances are known to be derived only from American plants - cocaine from Erythroxylon coca, and nicotine from Nicotiana tabacum. The suggestion that such compounds could have found their way to Egypt before Columbus' discovery of America seemed patently impossible.![]()
j/k
there are plenty of stories about chinese voyages to america
as these guys were buddhist monks I don't see why they couldn't have been involved in one.
of course that's if you believe the chinese ever reached america.
