Rome is probably the easiest as soon as you lose your starting army

Celtiberia is also a good way to start if you'd like to take it slow and steady

Remember that most factions lose money in the beginning, build economical buildings first and disband/kill of some of your troops.

If you do it right, you should be able to get Celtiberia in the plus before your treasury goes into the negative and without disbanding any troops.

There are two mini-regions to the West of your starting position. Split you army there in two, let each army besige one of the regions and attack both of them the next turn. To the north and South of your capital, there are two more mini-regions. I think the one to the South is somewhat better defended though.

Btw, always set the taxes in mini-regions to the Very High. This will allow you to get the msot out of them, since you can't upgrade them anyway... Also set the taxes in your two major cities to the maximum you population growth allows you to.

By doing just this and not disbanding or recruiting any troops, you should be able to stay in the positive numbers. Celtiberia is my favourite faction in FoE and I always use this tactic.

    Good tatic ,
    it is very logical!!
I take the first two mini-regions and then one of the two ( or both) normal regions west of your starting position.
This is the best I think

Cisalpine Gauls are probably the hardest, but they're really fun to try and make work.
